A poverty tracking web site sounds great in theory, but this web site will only be functional if it is designed properly. Everyday there are several internet start-ups that fail to reach the public, and this could happen to this project if it is not advertised appropriately. It seems to me that the web site is geared towards researchers and activists in that it will be able to show them what is working, and what is not, in certain efforts to eliminate poverty around the world. This sounds like a great tool, but I feel the UN and Google need to focus on grabbing the attention of the general public. This web site should not only show the efforts being made by researchers and activists, but it has to show what the average citizen can do in order to help end poverty. Poverty is not just an issue that will disappear with awareness. Even though I think this tool will be a great help to those that are already in the fight against global poverty, the makers need to find a way to attract those who are not necessarily searching for ways to help as of the present in order for the site to serve its greater purpose- ending world poverty.
