They have been faking numbers all along, they say that the population is increasing in Mass., but in reality the middle class is moving out in high numbers, and by counting the illegal aliens coming in for free benefits, they claim that the numbers are growing.

All smoke and mirrors, we are in real trouble and the politicians either do not care, or they are really clueless

This is another American corporation slashing that shouldn't take place.

We need serious legislation soon that adresses these issues.

When a corporation states that they will add jobs upon recieving grants then we need to hold them accountable. Hold them to these commitments or retract the grant!

Our leaders need to lead or leave! I hold the Presdient responsible for non-action! We need more pro-american jobs bills. Even if the economies in India,China and Brazil decline we still need to strengthen America.

The only answer is the number of JOBS! Corporations are cutting jobs.We need these companies to invest in America!

If I was Obama, I would have a news conference and state an agenda for this so called Lame duck session. Allow all the Bush tax cuts to expire! Raise taxes on the wealthy as they haven't created ANY jobs! So in essence take their money and create jobs! Let people call you Socialist!

Heres a breakdown plan as the Democratic strategist sit on their hands!
Dear President Obama,

My name is kevin lynch. I feel that you should allow the Bush tax cuts to expire! The wealthy haven't spent their money in our economy in 8 years, they will not spend now either. Listen, the sky will not fall. We all paid under the tax rate over ten years ago. Do not extend any tax cuts.

Second, I would announce the proposal that goes a step further than the last bill that the Obstructionist Republicans blocked. S. 3816 (Creating American Jobs and Ending Offshoring Act )
Measure Title: A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to create American jobs and to prevent the offshoring of such jobs overseas.

Send a clear message to the Republicans! Resubmit S.3816 but with stricter tax law. Give tax breaks to American companies that do not outsource. Point out companies such as AT&T,Nike, Microsoft, Halliburton, GM, and others whom have outsourced all of their jobs amid MASSIVE PROFITS! This was not for competition reasons it was for Greed; American greed!

Make sure that you have an immediate press conference with Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Make a stand, request for them not to extend the Bush tax cuts! And propose a new law to be passed before Xmas. Pass the American Jobs bill before they take control of the house!

Utilize, the boxing scenario and Ali's rope a dope! The Stimulus was your jab to stun the opponent(an economic disaster) then you just took the rope a dope beating(mid term elections) and now you are going to throw a straight right(no extension of Bush tax cuts for the wealthy who have only proven to invest overseas) and the massive left hook(a more pro-American jobs bill that is harder than S. 3816) for the knock out and subsequent CHAMPIONSHIP run for the United States of America and it's hard working Americans.

You have gone around the world and listened and now you have decided to fight dearly for the Interest of the American worker first and foremost. Cut the non-immigrant visas issued by 50% leaving the remaining 50% for education student visas. Rebuild America!!!

Lynch, You're clearly one of those people who can clear a room...
You seems to think the “rich” will hide their money in a matress, apparently…probably so they won’t have to “share” it with the poor. What nonsense! If Donald Trump pays $20,000 for a formal dinner for several friends at an upscale restaurant–what you liberals would consider to be an “obscene” display of wealth and consumption–that money doesn’t go under the restauranteur’s mattress, either. It pays the maitre ‘d, the busboys, the waiters, the chef and his assistants, and further, the greengrocer, the butcher, the wine store owner and HIS employees, and further still, the vintner and his employees, the miller, the meat packers, the farmers and even the truckers who transport all that food TO these people and the restaurant. WHEN are you going to wake up and smell the coffee?

Did anyone find Patrick's victory celebration over the top? The Park Plaza looks like a gilded palace. How can any liberal criticize what any business person does with their money when their fearless leaders act like French royalty just before the revolution?

Stamos does seem like he lives under a rock! Let me tell you Stamos, it isn't socialism! People are not becomming super wealthy Billionaires due to hard work!

The American dream has been manipulated by the super wealthy! Many super wealthy do not pay much taxes at all! Take Halliburton for example! You know the company that Cheney was CEO of! You know the old KBR (kellogg,Brown and root) Which was partialy owned by Ws grand dad!

This country needs Jobs! The super wealthy have been recieving Bush tax cuts for ten years now and they haven't created not ONE JOB! Enough is Enough!

Governments responsibility is to protect it's citizens against the manipulating powers of American corporations!

We need to reverse outsourcing of American Jobs or social services will be needed by more than 65% of the population!

We have illegals in the street protesting for higher wages! Someone needs to tell them that all the Jobs are over in India and China. Maybe GM can give them all a lift to China as they move their entire operation to China this year!

Here is some info Stamos :
On the eve of the 2004 presidential election, allegations about the corrupt relationship between the Bush administration and Halliburton Corp., the company formerly run by Vice President Richard Cheney, have taken center stage once again. Press reports Friday said that the FBI has expanded an ongoing investigation into contracts obtained by Halliburton’s subsidiary, Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR), in Iraq and Kuwait.

The FBI sought an interview with Bunnatine H. Greenhouse, a senior Army civil servant who objected to the KBR no-bid contract and complained that it represented preferential treatment. The Army gave KBR a secret $7 billion contract to restore Iraq’s oil fields just before Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq in March 2003

In March 2008, the Boston Globe reported that KBR had avoided paying hundreds of millions of dollars in federal Medicare and Social Security taxes by hiring workers through shell companies based in the tax haven of the Cayman Islands. More than 21,000 people working for KBR in Iraq - including about 10,500 Americans - are listed as employees of two companies, Service Employers International Inc., and Overseas Administrative Services, which exist on the island only in computer files in an office.

KBR admitted that the companies were set up "in order to allow us to reduce certain tax obligations of the company and its employees." But KBR does claim the workers as its own with regards to the legal immunity extended to employers working in Iraq

"In 1979, Bush’s first business, Arbusto Energy, obtained financing from James Bath, a Houstonian and close family friend. One of many investors, Bath gave Bush $50,000 for a 5 percent stake in Arbusto. At the time, Bath was the sole U.S. business representative for Salem bin Laden, head of the wealthy Saudi Arabian family and a brother (one of 17) to Osama bin Laden. It has long been suspected, but never proven, that the Arbusto money came directly from Salem bin Laden. In a statement issued shortly after the September 11 attacks, the White House vehemently denied the connection, insisting that Bath invested his own money, not Salem bin Laden’s, in Arbusto.

"In conflicting statements, Bush at first denied ever knowing Bath, then acknowledged his stake in Arbusto and that he was aware Bath represented Saudi interests. In fact, Bath has extensive ties, both to the bin Laden family and major players in the scandal-ridden Bank of Commerce and Credit International (BCCI) who have gone on to fund Osama bin Laden. BCCI defrauded depositors of $10 billion in the ’80s in what has been called the “largest bank fraud in world financial history” by former Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau. During the ’80s, BCCI also acted as a main conduit for laundering money intended for clandestine CIA activities, ranging from financial support to the Afghan mujahedin to paying intermediaries in the Iran-Contra affair.

"If the United States boosts defence spending in its quest to stop Saudi dissident Osama bin Laden's alleged terrorist activities, his family may be the unexpected beneficiary of that, media reports said. "Among its far-flung business interests, the well-heeled Saudi Arabian clan, which says it is estranged from Laden, is an investor in a fund established by Carlyle Group, a well-connected Washington merchant bank specialising in buyouts of defence and aerospace companies," The Wall Street Journal said in an investigative dispatch. It said "through this investment and its ties to Saudi royalty, the bin Laden family has become acquainted with some of the biggest names in the Republican Party." "In recent years, former president George H W Bush, ex-secretary of state James Baker and ex-secretary of defence Frank Carlucci have made the pilgrimage to the bin Laden family's headquarters in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). "Ex-president Bush makes speeches on behalf of Carlyle Group and is senior adviser to its Asian Partners Fund, while Baker is its senior counsellor and Carlucci is the group's chairman," the journal said." --Hindustani Times, 9/28/01

With former US Defense Secretary Frank Carlucci as its chairman, it's no surprise that The Carlyle Group is drawn to defense. Defense and aerospace firms such as United Defense Industries make up a significant share of the world's largest private equity firm's portfolio. Also represented are information technology (Federal Data), health care, real estate, and bottling companies. Since Carlucci joined in 1989, a host of staffers from the Reagan and first Bush administrations have stinted at the company, including ex-Secretary of State James Baker and ex-budget chief Richard Darman. Former President Bush and former UK Prime Minister John Major have also made appearances.--Hoovers Online

***
...Traveling with the fanfare of dignitaries, Mr. Bush and Mr. Baker [use] their extensive government contacts to further their business interests as representatives of the Carlyle Group, a $12 billion private equity firm based in Washington that has parlayed a roster of former top-level government officials, largely from the Bush and Reagan administrations, into a moneymaking machine. In a new spin on Washington's revolving door between business and government, where lobbying by former officials is restricted but soliciting investments is not, Carlyle has upped the ante and taken the practice global. Mr. Bush and Mr. Baker were accompanied on their trips by former Prime Minister John Major of Britain, another of Carlyle's political stars. With door-openers of this caliber, along with shrewd investment skills, Carlyle has gone from an unknown in the world of private equity to one of its biggest players. Private equity, which involves buying up companies in private deals and reselling them, is a high-end business open only to the very rich. Over the last decade, the Carlyle empire has grown to span three continents and include investments in most corners of the world. It owns so many companies that it is now in effect one of the nation's biggest defense contractors and a force in global telecommunications. Its blue-chip investors include major banks and insurance companies, billion-dollar pension funds and wealthy investors from Abu Dhabi to Singapore. In getting business for Carlyle, Mr. Bush has been impressive. His meeting with the crown prince was followed by a yacht cruise and private dinners with Saudi businessmen. And Mr. Bush led Carlyle's successful entry into South Korea, the fastest-growing economy in Asia. After his meetings with the prime minister and other government and business leaders, Carlyle won a tough competition for control of KorAm, one of Korea's few healthy banks. The steady flow of politicians to lucrative private-sector jobs based on their government contacts is a familiar Washington tale. But in this case, it is being played out for more dollars, on a global stage, and in the world of private finance, where the minimal government rules prohibiting lobbying by former officials for a given period are not a factor. These rules say nothing about potential conflicts when former government officials use their connections and insights for financial gain, and they may attract more notice now that George W. Bush is president. Many of those involved with Carlyle, which invests largely in companies that do business with the government or are affected by government regulations, have ties to the Oval Office.

For instance, Frank C. Carlucci, a Reagan secretary of defense who as much as anyone is responsible for Carlyle's success, said he met in February with his old college classmate Donald H. Rumsfeld, the secretary of defense, and Vice President Dick Cheney, himself a defense secretary under former President Bush, to talk about military matters — at a time when Carlyle has several billion-dollar defense projects under consideration.... "Carlyle is as deeply wired into the current administration as they can possibly be," said Charles Lewis, executive director of the Center for Public Integrity, a nonprofit public interest group based in Washington. "George Bush is getting money from private interests that have business before the government, while his son is president. And, in a really peculiar way, George W. Bush could, some day, benefit financially from his own administration's decisions, through his father's investments. The average American doesn't know that and, to me, that's a jaw-dropper."

It is difficult to determine exactly how much money the senior Mr. Bush and Mr. Baker have made. Mr. Baker is a Carlyle partner, and Mr. Bush has the title senior adviser to its Asian activities. With a current market value of about $3.5 billion on Carlyle's equity and with the firm owned by 18 partners and one outside investor, Mr. Baker's Carlyle stake would be worth about $180 million if each partner held an equal stake. It is not known whether he has more or less than the other partners. Unlike Mr. Baker, Mr. Bush has no ownership stake in Carlyle; he is an adviser and an investor and is compensated by obtaining stakes in Carlyle investments. Carlyle executives cited, for example, Mr. Bush's being allowed to put money he earns giving speeches for Carlyle into its investment funds. Mr. Bush generally receives $80,000 to $100,000 for a speech. He sits on no corporate boards other than Carlyle's. Carlyle also gave the Bush family a hand in 1990 by putting George W. Bush, who was then struggling to find a career, on the board of a Carlyle subsidiary, Caterair, an airline-catering company....

Now put it together remembering now that Halliburton has moved 100% of its operations into Dubai!
WASHINGTON — Brushing aside objections from Republicans and Democrats alike, President Bush endorsed the takeover of shipping operations at six major U.S. seaports by a state-owned business in the United Arab Emirates. He pledged to veto any bill Congress might approve to block the agreement.

The president on Tuesday defended his administration’s earlier approval of the sale of London-based Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co. to Dubai Ports World, despite concerns in Congress it could increase the possibility of terrorism at American ports.

Here he is pitching the deal!
Bush, who has never vetoed a bill as president, said on the White House South Lawn:“This is a company that has played by the rules, has been cooperative with the United States, from a country that’s an ally on the war on terror, and it would send a terrible signal to friends and allies not to let this transaction go through.”

Lawmakers from both parties have noted that some of the Sept. 11 hijackers used the United Arab Emirates as an operational and financial base. In addition, critics contend the UAE was an important transfer point for shipments of smuggled nuclear components sent to Iran, North Korea and Libya by a Pakistani scientist.

They say a port operator complicit in smuggling or terrorism could manipulate manifests and other records to frustrate Homeland Security’s already limited scrutiny of shipping containers and slip contraband past U.S. Customs inspectors.

Without any previous business experience, Cheney leaves the Department of Defense to become the CEO of Halliburton Co., one of the biggest oil-services companies in the world. He will be chairman of the company from 1996 to October 1998 and from February to August 2000. Under Cheney's leadership, Halliburton moves up from 73rd to 18th on the Pentagon's list of top contractors. The company garners $2.3 billion in U.S. government contracts, which almost doubles the $1.2 billion it earned from the government previously. Most of the contracts are granted by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.3 Halliburton's overseas operations go from 51% to 68% of its revenue. According to the Center for Public Integrity,4 under Cheney's leadership the company also receives $1.5 billion worth of assistance from government-sponsored agencies such as OPIC (Overseas Private Investment Corporation) and the Export-Import Bank, a huge increase compared to the $100 million that the company had received in federal loans and guarantees in the five years prior to Cheney's arrival. Years later, during the 2000 campaign in a broadcasted vice presidential candidates' debate with Joe Lieberman, Cheney asserts that "the government has absolutely nothing to do" with his financial success as chairman of Halliburton Co.5 Halliburton pleads guilty to criminal charges of violating a U.S. ban on exports to Libya by selling Col. Qaddafi six pulse neutron generators, devices that can be used to detonate nuclear weapons.6 Halliburton pays a $3.8 million penalty to settle alleged violations of the U.S. trade ban.7
