I always meet in the local police department parking lot.
You guys buy women on craigslist? The ebay chicks are so much hotter.
Who buys playstations then pays for them via Western Union? Are they high? I am and I wouldnt do that. I might write then a check or something.

Craigslist has a BIG warrning across the top of their page about paying for goods via WU.(or sending cash to a PO BOX LOL)
Can't these people read? Ever heard of common sence?
The advantage of CL over Feebay is that it was intended to be used for you to be able to deal directly with the seller (locally)..and it's free.
"DeWine recommends checking the a seller's reputation beforehand and looking at feedback ratings" ????
There is no "feedback rating" on CL!
Check their rating???Well everyone except Mr. dewine knows Craigs doesnt have a feedback system. I think we all know now where this investigation will go at this rate.

This is not the only issue with craigslist. There is so much more. I have advertised about finding animals and the people wanted to know just where I lived stating they were missing those animals. They would say they lived in Columbus and they were probably taken to the City in which I live. I didn't fall for that one! Why would a neighbor take them that far away?! There were other issues too. Then I was selling my child's ps3 and someone said they were going into the service and needed to pay by paypal before they left and would have someone else pick it up. I know that is a scam too.

When you buy on Craig List have them ship the Item to you COD. That way you at least get something!

Only little Mikey Dewine would think Craigslist has rating and feedback. Hey Mikey come out from under that Mad Mothers skirt and look at craigslist.

ALWAYS meet a seller at a public place and bring someone along with you--CCW preferable! Craigslist IS the UNDERBELLY of the internet--period! Sure, there's legit listings however, there's reason ALL major metro police dept.'s incl. CPD have a team that deals mainly with stolen and recovery of goods on CL and it is indeed watched as best as can be with help from Citizen Observer's all over. You can go to any Public Library on ANY morning, but especially Monday morning and take the Martin Luther King Branch on Long Street, as soo as the library opens the hoodrats are waiting outside to get on the computers and you can see the CL screens on and like a zoo animal looking at a GPS or whatever was stolen that fits in all those baggy pants, they are looking at the things like they have no idea what it really is, yet are listing it on CL--FACT! NEVER, NEVER respond to an add that spells out on SEVERAL listings the same number and says TEXT ONLY. THAT usually means it is a hoodrat and has been proven under cover MANY times over. Common sense and actually reading the warning about scams, etc. is only part of protecting yourself. There's been MANY cases where people have actually been robbed by being baited to sell an item and the address is actually a vacant boarded-up crack house. Meeting anyone in the hood is totally bad news BUT WORSE is allowing people you have no idea what their motives are, NO MATTER WHERE YOU LIVE; to come to where YOU LIVE. They VERY WELL ARE CASING YOUR PLACE TO ROB IT! FACT! I rather use ebay to see or buy even if it means I may pay a little more because of ebay's buyer/seller protection and that way nobody is getting MY phone number or even know what I drive for that matter. This world has become a not so safe place really faster in last few years especially and you have to be smarter than the thugs.**IF** you buy a GPS from anyone on CL, before even giving that person the cash, turn it on and hit the HOME icon or equiv. and if it says "this belongs to Karen, for instance", yet you are dealing with J'Mal...through GPS you item could be recovered FROM you and then YOU have to deal with charge of receiving stolen goods...underbelly of internet is used by same!

We have encountered at least 3 fraudulent rental property listings on CL. Two wanted us to submit our personal info for a credit check to free web sites in other countries before they’d give us the addresses. Contact persons were also in other countries. We smelled a rat immediately and were not deceived by any of them. We turned all the links into CL, but they remained active links for several weeks afterwards. They did nothing about it, and never got back with us. When selling items, I always get the caller’s contact info and confirm it’s valid before giving them our address. I also google their e-mail address and phone numbers. Have also used the free county web sites to do criminal history checks. In some cases, I checked what city they were actually located in by looking up the location of their IP address from the e-mail headers. Have avoided contacting buyers based on what I found .

When they do arrive to view the merchandise, I have it waiting in the garage or outside in the driveway so they have no need to come inside the house. I am also well armed and have other security contingencies in place in case something happens. Also keep my attractive wife and young daughter safely inside the house where they can’t be seen. Have sold many items on CL and so far no problems except those fake rental listings. Would use it again, but will never let my guard down when people come over. I like the idea of meeting in a public place. Hadn’t thought of that before. Preferably a place that has security cameras.

CL owner in San Fran, CA has been offered sums in the BILLIONS to sell his site but has always turned it down and when there were stalkings and even a murder utilizing CL, the CL mentality is always in the GRAY AREA of FREE SPEECH! I'm all about our Constitutional Rights, but CL goes out of their way to not cooperate with law enforcemnt until a court order is issued and then even will try to fight that--FYI. There's a section on CL main page within personals called "Rants and Raves", which seems to have been taken over in EVERY State by card-carrying KKK or worst scum of society. Again, all under auspice of Freedom of Speech, but when people are borderline assisting others by telling personal info about particular business owners and hate-speech, provoking physical action against these people; all it takes is one loose wing-nut in society with a gun but--again, notice nothing was done re: CL and the medical student whom stalke and killed that woman via CL and is still held-up in court system. It's also a fact that ALOT of HIV+ men especially, utilize the personals to hook-up with nobody asking any questions, hence further spreading this horrible disease. Why do I mention this? Because there's a HUGE number of MARRIED MEN ladies, THAT USE THIS ON THE SLY. Might do you well to check your PC's browser history and if CL is there quite a bit and you two are not selling aything nor buying, you may just look into this a bit further--FACT! Working as a social-worker advocate has educated me on the indeed underbelly of society and CL always end-up there even people dumb enough to try to sell drugs by using numerical code for each substance, which every police dept. is aware of what it means. Again, Cl--all about free speech!

ALSO, to all the young people out there buying and selling on craigslist, if you go to meet up with someone for an exchange don't go alone. Not everyone is legit!

This goes to show how old/dumb Mike DeWine is. Craigslist doesn't have a rating system. Ohioans are dumb for voting for him.
