Question from a Newbie
Baffled in LA

I am new to Craigslist, and something baffling happens each time I post an item of some value, lets say 200+. Soon after I receive mails:“Is the item still available?” or something like that. Stupid as I am, I reply “Yes”- never to hear again from that person. I realize now these might be spammers. But the baffling question is: WHY? What do they get out of that? There must be something good in that for them – not for me – to do that. Please, any enlightening comments are greatly appreciated

If you're replying from your own computer (as most people do) they'll get your email address! Create an online email address, and use this address "ONLY" Craigslist ads. Read the email online, or setup a notifier to let you know if you have new mail (Google has one of these). Don't EVER reply to ads from your personal email address if you can help it!
