Dixie Stampede closes - well, I hope the employees that chose to not include a tip for the pizza delivery driver when the business placed orders for 60, 70, 80 plus pizzas at a time is out of work for a good long while.
As a delivery driver I made $5 and change per hour. After a 65 pizza order with zero tip to Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede I returned to the store and QUIT. I enjoyed using my vehicle and gas to deliver 65 pies to this deplorable business for less than minimum wage (sarcasm included).
I really blamed the store though - since their employee earned less than minimum wage they should have added a tip into the price or have a policy to add 25 cents per pizza for orders over 20 pies. Of course they wouldn't do that though as they would then be unable to beat their main competitor's price. Compare it to large parties (sometimes of 6 or more) in a restaurant - automatic 15% plus for the less than minimum wage waitress that doesn't even have to abuse her car for work or use her gas (at $3 plus a gallon).
Both the store and the Dixie Stampede stink. Good riddance to Dixie Stampede!
I have a few questions for you...Didn't you think that you might have customers who might not tip you when you took the pizza delivery job? Could the result of no tip be because your delivery time was unreasonable or the order was wrong? Or perhaps that it was understood with your manager that it was a special deal? Perhaps your anger lies with the wrong people?

Serious, they gave the employees money to compensate for the lack of notice. Would it really of been better if they gave the employees 2 months notice and didn't give them severence? This was a real estate transaction NOT made due to revenue problems. Why else would they be looking at relocating?
The severence pay is REQUIRED BY LAW under the WARN act. They are not being nice, they are following the law.

Does anyone know how if they are going to reimburse the people who bought tickets ahead of time and could not use them for the Dixie Stampede?

We, a family of 4, always looked forard to seeing the Christmas show at the Dixie Stampede. I've read all of the negative comments but the place did put on a great show and it was a fun atmosphere to have dinner in as it was "different" and not "hillbilly" as one person put it.
