I hope that the selection of tose to be laid off was made on the basis of who voted for Obama.
If I owned a business and had to cut - the first to go would be those registered as Democrats. Because the truth is - the Democrat Part is merely an acdeptable name for the Communists in our midst.
When ever I need to purchase any kind of service, I first determine the politics of the venor or suppliper. If they are Comsymps, they will never get their foot in the door.
But American - Not Chinese or Communese.
Then Stop buying stuff at Walmart coz all of that is coming from China anyway....bet that's going to be hard.

The headline should have read "Liberal policies have forced Conoco Phillips to cut salaries and employees."

LOVE IT!!!
An elderly man suffered a massive heart attack. The family drove wildly to get him to the emergency room. After what seemed like a very long wait, the E.R. Doctor appeared, wearing his scrubs and with a long face.
Sadly, he said,'I'm afraid he is brain-dead, but his heart is still beating.'
'Oh, dear,' cried his wife, her hands clasped against her cheeks with shock.'We've never had a Democrat in the family before!

OMG: I love that quote.. "We are trying live within our means" Give me a break the oil industry made billions in profits for the last 4 years. How many of us can say that..
Judy sorry but your an idiot! I agree that the top CEO's made millions, but how about the the oil companies lower employees who are actually the ones who do the dirty work. These people are the ones who contribute to the economy. Roughnecks, swampers, pumpers, truck drivers, roustabouts and pipeliners? How about them? Did they make millions?

San Juan County has had spikes in energy production since the 50s, when it became a "boomtown." Okla. and West Texas invaded F-town. We have seen highs and lows numerous times since then. To blame Obama for the current situation in SJC is a bit of a stretch...

I am sympathetic with people out of work, but in the case of many of the oilfied workers had they been more prudent during the good times they wouldn't find themselves in trouble today...How many bought big homes, gas guzzlers, boats? One only had to sit in the parking lot of the Sportsman, on any given weekend, and watch the Co. trucks and SUVs pulling boats. Times were good and would last forever. Right?

The price of energy is dictated by the world market. If anyone is truly interested in what caused the price of gas to sky rocket, google Enron loophole, Phil Graham or Ken Lay...Or continue to be short-sighted and blame Obama...

For the love of God, please go away! Where do you come up with this crap? The fact you imply people should not spend their own hard earned money validates my theory of you being a lazy, jealous bum. Obama, Richardson and Lujan are 3 D's (Dummies) who want to run unemployment into the ground here in New Mexico. San Juan County and the surrounding region is rich in Natural Gas reserves. Why not utilize what we have? You continue to spew your rhetoric on here with no factual basis. You are nothing more than a Socialist Puppet who bought into an Administration full of lies, deceit and "false prophecy."

Sorry, I have no plans to go anywhere.

That was not my intent. Just pointing out that when times are good it's easy to get carried away with no thought of tomorrow.

It is very simple. High energy prices are good for people working in the industry. Not so good for the consumer.
You continue to spew your rhetoric on here with no factual basis.
Show me your facts and I'll show you mine.

Did you google Phil Graham,[Mccain's financial adviser] Enron loophole?
