CN has an easement on my property, I was cleaning up my property by the rails over the weekend and several hours later a CN policeman arrived at my home stating that I was "dumping". I have hauled a lot of garbage from that area where others have "dumped", now I my be charged for trying to clean up that area by CN's tracks. Is CN a good corporate citizen or did I just run up against a member of the Hitler Youth? How come they can't seem to stop the actual dumping offenders but can harass homeowner that have issued CN easements? Do I have any recourse?

Do you actually own the property or does CN? If they write you a citation, explain it to the judge. Someone driving by probably saw you carrying some garbage and did not realize you were REMOVING it. They probably called CN and reported it. Or it could be some neighbor that doesn't like you. To find out who they are, go to court and they would have to appear or CN has no case.(Unless the CN cop personally saw you on CN property).
