Nice, just like when i worked for CC then IC, we got screwed not as bad. I feel for all you guys, and hope all the shit ass scum who voted for this to happen may some day get a pink slip in there mail box. They say this was going to help the economy yeah OKAY. CN is the must F%^&ed outfit there is putting WC guys on CC territory, and vice versa. All in all The biggest point is take your money and run. CN does not put money back into there property, the derail (oh just push it off to the side) who cares who it effects or how many people it kills. I feel for the family of the woman who died at rockford on the CC sub. I feel for her family and hope they take CN to the cleaners.

F*&^ you all who were for the merger.

Ha, but yet you agree with the CN...Well I can tell you this as i am a NIMBY i guess, transtar (EJ&E takes car of track and equipment. Canadian National gets a 2 out of 1-10. I worked for the Chicago Central and Pacific for many years later Illinois Central...Billions were dumped into the Iowa division in the CC days lifting slow orders, track defects, and washouts along with bridge up dates...CN runs them untill the derail as you can see is what is happening on the CC and WC lines. CN runs them untill the track is beat to hell. I would have rather have seen a private corp. or bank buy out the DMIR, MISSABEE and EJ&E. The big derailment is coming my friends just like what happened in rockford last night except this time it will be on J tracks. us in the suburbs will not be so lucky...Oh yeah if you dont like train traffic why the hell do you live in one of the biggest rail capitals in the US and push onto us suburban people. I live in westchicago, i deal with 95-120 trains going east and west a day, now i gotta deal with crybabys like you that push for 60 to 70 north and south (some areas on the J line) Thankyou, do the letters FO mean anything to you. I have 23 years in the rail industry I have to tell you your putting more EJ&E guys at the unemployment lines than keeping employeed. CN Wisconsin crews work those lines... nice job...<quoted text>
Shawn,

Since you have worked on the railroad, in particular this line, tell me what track structure is designed to handle 3.25 inches of rain in one hour? According to the Rockford newspaper (Rockford Register Star) between 7-8 p.m. 3.25 inches of rain fell on the area (a total of 4.2 inches fell all day). The train derailed at 8:30 p.m.
I know this area well, I grew up near there and have crossed that crossing many times. It is in a small valley area, which means that much of the water from the rain would have run down into the area compounding the problem. Think about it, 3.25 inches of rain in a single day (and they had 4.2) is a lot, 3.25 inches in a single hour is huge. I think that when all is said and done the investigation will come to the conclusion that the cause was circumstances beyond human control (i.e. a massive rainstorm).

hey Joe, couldnt agree with you anymore...Hunter Harrison is one big Jackass along with his companion the mayor of Buffalo Grove and all the other jack-n-balls that made this happen...I feel bad for you guys...us CC guys got screwed also but not as bad. im glad i never hired on with the J as i seen this coming after the DMIR, BESSEMER, and i think theres 1 more. if theres any B&S guys out there id take your money and run. talk around town is thats the next one to go to the CN. I swear your the engineer that used to let me ride on the steps of your engine so i could do my airtest as id help you guys by hanging the fred when my train was in your at eola yard, i was employeed with the railnet. Joe, to be honest with you all you J guys are great guys, but the only ones that may have hirings sometime soon is IAIS, EVWR, PAL, and possible indiana railroad. get out while you can dear god.
