If you looked more carefully you would see that I did address the post about the derailment in my post right before the one that you quoted in your reply. But for your edification (and education) I will say what I said before. None of the stories about the derailment say that any hazardous materials were released. In fact they say that the 2 cars (of the 22 that derailed) that were carrying hazardous materials were not ruptured. Gee, last time that I looked at a dictionary that meant that they did not spill anything.<quoted text>

Not a railroader....Save your breath with these people, they are rooted in Nimby-ism. Trains derail, trucks and cars crash, and boats sink nearly everyday. They need to get over it. The alternative to increased rail traffic is to further load the highways up with trucks which are much more of a hazard and nuisance than the railroad. Stop your incessant whining Nimby's.
