Calgary, Canada

#1 Sep 10, 2012
I just had a question, I hope can be answered on here. I understand that CN and CPR are canada's primary railways... But can another company or individual (hypotehtical) lease/rent track for use. So for example, If I owned my own Locomotive and wanted to start a service between two destinations... Could I use it on either CN or CPR railways? Assuming there is a fee... and if so, how much? Is this difficult to do? It looks like VIA Rail pays for the usage of track... any idea what this costs them?
