Attack on Obama riles Glenn Beck's advertisers

Aug 24, 2009 Full story: KVAL - News - Entertainment 4,707

Glenn Beck returns to Fox News Channel after a vacation on Monday with fewer companies willing to advertise on his show than when he left, part of the fallout from calling President Barack Obama a racist.

It's simple. Short of shouting "fire" in a crowded theater, Glen Beck has the right and can say whatever he wants. However, if his sponsors disagree with what he says, they have the right not to support him through advertising monies. It's called voting with your feet. These advertisers obviously either disagree with Beck or they feel that they need to disassociate from him or lose business. It all boils down to money.

Glenn Beck, meet Kanye West, your co-host.

Now you two can play the race card all show long.

Kanye can claim a White President hates Blacks, and Glenn can claim a Bi-racial President hates Whites.

I don't see Walmart, CVS Caremark, Clorox and Sprint sponsoring Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, or the Black Panthers either. Seems to me that those companies are being consistant.

Beck’s dissemination of critical information has cut deep into wrong doing, lies and inconsistencies in the Bush White House and continues today with his “pulling aside of the veil” that hides falsehoods and corruption in the Obama administration. In a world of Change, where union workers and community organization group members are used as rent-a-mobs to stop dissent and discourse, it’s no surprise that the White House has a vested interest in silencing Mr. Beck – enter Van Jones.

Jones was appointed Green Jobs czar by President Obama this past March and has direct ties to Color of Change. Van Jones, an admittedly proud communist, former president and founder of Color of Change is also coincidentally a close personal friend of President Barack Obama.

This is nothing but socialists looking to stifle dissent.
It is always the left who scream "free speech" unless they disagree with it.

Right-wing commentators are learning a very valuable lesson; the American people will not allow you to say some of the most outrageous comments about President Obama and not expect a backlash. We will not stand for this anymore. Beck is a very disturbed individual but I guarantee you that he will tone down his inflammatory and hateful rhetoric towards this President now that the American people has stepped on him like a cockroach.

Hello Glenn Beck !.....

Welcome to the unemployment line. I'm sure that Rupert Murdoch will be gracious enough to say you were let go because of "downsizing" the network.

I hate to admit it, but Glenn may be right. I'm becoming a bit more remorseful for having supported Mr. Obama. It's time to honor EACH OTHER'S right to Freedom of Speech, and know that it's ok to call a spade a spade.

So he looses a couple of sponsors. So what. When one falls off, more will step up. Even those that leave will have to realize that the ratings his show brings in is more than MSNBC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and ABC combined and his show is doing it 5eastern 2 pacific. When those sponsors loose customers they will be back. The sponsors will notice it when their profit margins fall.

Aside from wishing a good time for all, in fact, the president had one clear message yesterday for reporters, said Bill Burton, the deputy White House press secretary:“The first family would very much appreciate if you respect the privacy of the girls while they’re out here on vacation.’’

What no Letterman jokes about the girls and the Boston Red Sox..........

Obama has been hiring based on minority status as opposed to qualifications. I give you as exhibit A- Van Jones, who has plenty of experience as a racist agitator and a communist, but ZERO experience as an "Environmental Czar".

I guess that's just how black people will do you.

Now, you tell me, Pat, is that last sentence there racist? Of course it is. Obama said the same thing, was it racist when he said it? Of course it was. Is it a crime to make that observation? Not in America, pal.

When you say "we will not stand for this anymore", do you mean the free expression of opinion? And who, exactly, is "we"? Do you speak for anyone besides your own misguided self? I know you sure as HELL don't speak for any Marines I've ever known.

The American people didn't step on Beck, it was Obama and his friends with the new Black Panthers responsible for the counter-attack. Beck's rating's (and the rest of FoxNews') are SOARING.

(As an aside, Pat, when you get to hell you'll be more likely to encounter your friends from the Godless left. Most folks on the right are spiritual by nature).

Kinda reminds you of Letterman, wonder where his sponsors went.........liberals are so one deminsional. Their memories are so short, but typical when you lie a lot. Hard to remember just what lie you told where. Thats been Obama's problem.

Do the Democrats really believe they can Shut Glenn Beck up by threatening his sponcers? How very American. If we cannot watch him on T V, or listen to him on radio, we will buy his books, and make him a very rich man. He only has to hold out until the next election when Americans will show the Majority what happens when they operate in an un-American manner. It is that Free Speach thing that Democrats hate so much
