Hello again,

Some strange and shocking developments are taking place at Plant 1. The auction that was supposed to be taking place this week was canceled. It seems someone bought Plant 1, all of it, at the last minute.

They are being tight lipped on who bought it, but all of a sudden Ed R. quit EPC and now works for Lear in Indiana on a consultant basis. Oddly this is the same plant, Greencastle, that Lear was going to close if they purchased RPI a year ago.

If you put the pieces together you might come up to the same conclusion I have, Perhaps Lear is taking over Plant 1. Maybe Rantoul products has a future yet.

I'll keep an ear out for more information but most of the front office old timers don't come around anymore and gossip about Rantoul Products is at a premium.

Love ya,

all that is going on is getting machines ready for auction. unemployment office says it is for one week. yes chris peters was at unemolyment office resently in line. he could not look at the old employees in the eyes. hey to whom it may concern leave milo alone. teamster local may have gotten us a severance package if milo had been running the show instead of pat[ the joke ] gleason.

I heard that Lear wanted plant 1. He just didn't want to deal with the union. I also heard the same thing about Cadence. Regardless, Plant 2 will more than likely be closed, they have gotten rid of 5 presses & only run 1 shift. Chris Peters deserved what he got!! Ed is the better man!!!

Heard yesterday that EPC is the one that bought plant 1, they are closing 2 and probably 3. The lease was cheap enough they can eat it for the lease term.
Wouldn't stake my life on this info, just passin local gossip.

I heard they only pay one dollar for the lease anf Collins and Aikman couldn't survive, with that kind of deal. What does that say about them.
