Akita's can be an aggressive dog , but the neither here or there buy a pup from a breeder recommended by the aka association, The pups you buy from these stores tug t your heart strings and it turns into an impulse buy. You pay a lot for a dog that you have no idea where it came from. They come with false papers and a lot of times behaviour problems. You can get the same type of dog usually at a lesser price from a breeder . Just ask any Vet about the chain Pet stores verses a local breeder associated with the AKC

If you don't have a clue, obviously this woman didn't, don't buy any dog until you do some research on the breed. An Akita is not the right breed for everyone. It doesn't matter where it came from. Mine is probably from a puppy mill, since I purchased her from a pet store, but since she's not my first of this breed she's been trained properly and is very well behaved. I still wouldn't leave her with any child just because of her size. Think before you do anything on impulse.
