"St. John says that if motorists come across a peacock in the road, it's better to hit the bird than swerve into another car or a pedestrian."
Shouldn't this be true for any smaller animal? I'd feel bad hitting someone's pet, but not as bad as if I caused an accident trying to avoid a small animal.

I'm surprised they didn't dispatch the SWAT team...

Please - hit the thing. If you have never had a peacock living near you then you are lucky. Their "call" actually sounds like a woman screaming at the top of their lungs. And I understand they actually taste pretty good, too.

One Adam Twelve, see the man 123 Main Street. Two peacocks reported holding hostages, armed and extremely colorful.

Agree on the screaming bit. I keep peacocks in my backyard so neighbors do not think it is my cleaning lady, screamin', when I get at her. PETA is gonna' be pi$$ed at the mention of hitting the peacocks. They would rather see humans swerve and be killed. What that neighborhood needs is a few "peacunts" to calm down the "peacocks". Later, gotta' go "pea"! As "Rome Burns", the peacocks, the peacocks! Give me a frickin' break. National news!
