Glad to hear it? Are you also glad to pay their former employees unemployment benefits?

Cheering for job loss is completely idiotic.

READ the article,idiot.
Ray Atkinson, a spokesman for the company, said the filing will not have a direct impact on jobs. In fact, he said, the company believes the financing supplied through the reorganization plan would allow Pilgrim’s to reinvest and restructure the company.

Pilgrim’s reiterated in a press release that the company has requested permission to continue paying payroll, wages, benefits and other operational expenses. The corporation added that suppliers should expect to be paid for post-petition purchases of goods and services.

I am in Texas and we know about PP's history of hiring illegal aliens here. Maybe now they will hire American's to work for them.

Legally Employed Workers Sue Pilgrim's Pride under RICO for Depressing Wages by Hiring Illegal Aliens

- by Roger McEowen

A class-action Racketeering Influence and Corrupt Organization (RICO) complaint accuses managers of the Pilgrim’s Pride plant in Russellville, AL, of conspiring in a nationwide racketeering scheme by hiring hundreds of undocumented workers with the effect of depressing the wages of citizen employees. Named plaintiff Jennifer Hall sues on behalf of all hourly workers who work or worked at Gold Kist or Pilgrim’s Price facilities nationwide. Pilgrim’s Pride acquired Gold Kist in January of 2007. Hall claims the defendant managers hired more than 500 undocumented workers in the past four years at the Russellville plant alone,“victimizing every legal worker.” Named defendants are operations manager Paul White and complex manager Phyllis Thomas. The suit demands an injunction and treble damages for the “illegal immigrant hiring scheme.” Hall v. White, No. 8-0484 (N.D. Ala. filed Mar. 15, 2007).
