Former Pilgrim's Pride human resources employee Reyna Villarreal, 33, of Mount Pleasant, was indicted on charges of making a false statement and mail fraud. A complaint alleges she was aware of the doctored identity documents and hired people with them anyway.

Also know as Reyna Aleman, Villarreal is accused of not disclosing on her citizenship application two years ago that she had committed an offense for which she had not been arrested. Agents allege the offense was providing a false Social Security number on her employment verification form.

The other 19 workers were indicted on charges of false use of a Social Security number. If convicted, each faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

Funny, I thought it was against the law to discriminate against a U.S. citizen on the basis of whether they spoke a foreign language or not for work, unless of course it was to teach it or for embassy or state duty.

They hire biligual in positions which require the use of another language. Believe it or not, some legal workers don't speak English proficiently.

I really hate to start a flame war here but some of you folks who don't know doodly-squat about the situation need to take a chill pill. People from Mexico are (mostly) hard-working individuals doing what they can to support their families. Yes, the price of food is cheaper down south but when the average "unskilled worker" wage (anybody here not finish college?) is roughly $.50 per hour what do you expect?

Pilgrim's in Texas pays a line rate of $9.80/hour to everyone, period. That doesn't seem to impress most Americans nowadays so why bitch if someone else is willing to do the work for that price?(What, you want $20/hour to cut up freakin' chickens?) Look what happened to Detroit!

Our problem is with the big business that sells the products that we're too lazy to take the time to prepare ourselves. You want to take the high costs away from normal living? Learn to do stuff yourself! Why pay $2 for a head of lettuce/greens/onions/etc. when you can grow it in the ground? Why pay top dollar for a high-carb chemically-enhanced chicken dinner when you can raise them with the assurance that they're not fed on steroids and antibiotics?

My grandparents raised their own vegetables, beef, poultry and pork and never suffered from any of the diseases/conditions that beset us today. They may not have had all the modern conveniences but they were satisfied with a long and fruitful life.

THINK ABOUT IT!

Well now, they take these low-paying jobs without having their hands tied behind their backs, because they know they will supplement their meager pay with their anchors' myriad of entitlements. They may work hard at their jobs, but they work even harder at working the system...one of which they never contributed a dime.

How do you know that we aren't doing the things you mentioned? Some of us have been doing so for years. My garden is doing well, and I know how to sew, we do our own yard work, our own home repairs and don't depend on the government to pay our way. We saved, put our children through school, and don't want to see our hard work go dowb the drain because we have to support all of Paco and Lupitas' American-born children. I'm sick of the fact that illegals have no sense of personal responsiblity, nor do they have self-reliance. They are depending too heavily on the taxpayers, and it's about to break the collective backs of said taxpayers. They constantly whine and put on their "Oh, woe is me" act, while they send billions of dollars home each year. I blame them just as much as I do our corrupt politicians and corporate fat-cats.

How many American citizens do you reckon are doing the same thing?

Do you honestly believe that your taxes will go down if they removed all the illegals?

Sorry, I can't fault someone who's been allowed to exploit a system designed to turn a blind eye. It's kinda like faulting a 2 year old who throws a fit every time he goes in Wal-Mart. Let him get away with it and it'll happen every time.

As far as "breaking taxpayers' backs" , I feel that's a bit of an exaggeration. Like I stated above , taxes won't go down because of a bunch of illegals being rounded up. Times are hard, sure enough, and they're gonna get worse with gas and food prices, etc. but fix the system first and eliminate the incentive for illegal immigration instead of venting frustration on a certain group of people who have learned to manipulate it. ;o)

BOYCOTT PILGRIM'S PRIDE products. It a shame the manner in which Pilgrim's Pride has exploited undocumented illegal immigrants, broken labor laws, violoated environmental laws, and subverted contractual agreements. They are CROOKS taking advantage of everyone they can in order to increase their profit margin. I wouldn't buy anything produced by these thugs. BOYCOTT PILGRIM'S PRIDE products.
