Talk about American Elitist taking care of American Elitist. I guess jail time is an uncommon sentence when you can simply buy your way out of the crime.

$4.5 million in fines, well Corporate America is still billions away from reparations to the American taxpayer for the so called cost of illegal immigration!

This is so stupid. Growers who made him the millionaire he is today are losing everything they have and he gets by with this. Even more reason for him to have to pay the growers. Pilgrim should be forced to settle with the growers instead of spending millions for the lawyers to fight them. NOW, while some of them can get their lives back together.

I would realy like to know the number of growers that pilgrims has closed down.I get numbers on employees but growers are not counted as employees. just how many lives have been affected. also I have heard of some suicides of growers. This is alot of distruction for such a fine religous family to have brought on to these people who only wanted to make a decent living and way of life for themselfs and their families.Shame on you Mr Pilgrim

There is a book that some lady in Arkansas wrote several years ago about the chicken companies. It was fiction but it might as well have been a documentary. A friend of mine had me read his but I don't remember the name of it. I thought of it when you mentioned suicide. It starts out with a grower committing suicide. The book should be required reading for anyone thinking about going into the chicken business.

BOYCOTT PILGRIM PRIDE products, it' the only way to insure that the guilty party of this catastrophe is held accountable. Boycott Pilgrim Pride products in the grocery store, restaurants, fast food chains, and don't buy any feed from his feed mills. It's time the American people stood up and bring these people down from their lofty perch, then maybe they will understand the pain they have inflicted upon so many hard working people.

Im all for boycotts, I buy nothing from mexico for example. Bought a different type of tomatoe the other day for example.

BUT boycotting will be ineffective UNTIL A CENTRAL FIGURE, Oreily, Beck, Numbersusa for example, COORDINATE IT and call for specifics.

Bo Pilgrim's money hard at work covering his ass again. I guess the growers will have to wait another 10 years for a pay increase so Bo can pay the fines. I think jail time is a more reasonable punishment for all exectuives commiting a federal crime!!!

Fines aren't enough. They just treat that as the cost of doing business. Lock up the ceo.

Something smells pretty bad about this lack of law enforcement on the Federal level. But one must remember, the Federal prosectors in this case are from Bo's home region of the state of Texas. And I just don't quite understand - they are still using illegal immigrants. For heaven's sake, just take a look at their catch crews.

The way I understand how the catch crews work is that PPC only hires the catch crew chief. The chief then hires his crew.
