I am thrilled for the workers and independent growers in Louisiana. La. Gov. Bobby Jindal must be commended for his all out effort to wrench the Farmerville plant out of the hands of Pilgrim's Pride. Gov. Jindal and the other elected officials involved were unwavering in their quest to prevent an economic diasater in NE Louisiana brought on by this greedy, self-satisfying corporation. Being from El Dorado, I wish Arkansas Gov. Beebee would take more of an active role in trying to save southern Arkansas from the same impending diasaster looming over our economy. Southern Arkansas has become the step-child of this state with little or no concern from the majority of state governmental officials. With all the interest from the Arkansas state government being from Little Rock and northward, it doesn't come as any suprise of the lack of effort. There has been plenty of 'lip-service', but nothing to back up any of their claims. With corporate giant Wal-Mart and Tyson being located in NW Arkansas, those of us located in southern Arkansas are somewhat accoustomed to this attitude from our state officials. It wouldn't shock me if Tyson is a big contributor to Beebee's campaign fund. If they were, it would explain the lack of effort on the part of Gov. Beebee. But, it is time to rejoice the success of those in the Farmerville area. CONGRATULATIONS !! Maybe those of us in south Arkansas can suceed from this state and be annexed into the great state of Louisiana. How about it Gov. Jindal?

I wish that Hollis Downs was as influential in getting the sale of the Farmerville poultry plant completed as Mike Walsworth has been. I guess he forgot that he has to run for his office again.

The growers in the El Dorado area are out in the cold. It doesn't appear that our governor has put forth much effort to save this plant. It is a shame that Gov. Beebee has taken this attitude in light of the success that Gov. Jindal has achieved. Those of us in south Arkansas should be reminded of Gov. Beebee's lack of effort when he comes up for election. The independent growers in the El Dorado have gotten nothing but "lip-service" from All of our elected officials. If the elected officials from Louisiana can bring about the continued operation of the Farmerville facality, then why can't our elected officials in Arkansas help save the El Dorado plant? They are too stupid or they just don't care!!!!!
