No direct email replies permitted?

I can receive email on my Android phone from pop.charter.com account, but when replying I get the error message -
"571 You must connect from Charter IP space. E1110"

So Charter insists that I fire up my browser log into my Charter HTML based Internet mail account just to send a reply to an email I received. Cumbersome and antiquidated. Their smpt server doesn't require authentication. Yet a simple change to turn on client authentication would allow quick and easy replies to emails when mobile. I wonder who the moron was behind that decision. This may be the straw that broke the camels back. Time for me to find another provider.
