Chesapeake is ready to make a huge move in the Williston Basin with their huge leasehold of more than 450,000 acres with Marathon Petroleum likely jointly develop their leasehold primarily in Stark County North Dakota as well in Hettinger and Slope Counties. This is huge for the amount of oil that is present which is in the millions of bbls.

. Interesting given the fact they were late to the game, drilled few bad wells and were dumping it as fast as they could early 2013. That and they have no budget for lease acquisition nor a budget to add to their drilling program.

Statoil could be the buyer as well of this huge leasehold in The Williston basin. 7- 10 oil and gas payzones present.

We have mineral rights in stark county leased by Chesapeake. When are they going to start drilling again?

You might want to contact their land department and talk to Dave Bolten when they are going to start drilling for the Pronghorn sand.

This southern part of the Basin will probably be the best part of the basin as to multiple pay zones that have a vast amount of oil and gas in each.

If Chesapeake doesn't develop or sell this valuable asset, heads will most likely roll. The two top brass will probably be fired by the board if they don't monetize it.

Marathon will most likely buy Chesapeakes 450,000 acres mostly in Stark and Hettinger counties in North Dakota after they discovered the Tyler horizontal play in northwestern Slope County. Huge oil find for Marathon.

Marathon has landmen in Slope County North Dakota courthouse now buying leases. This part of the Williston basin is hot now after the Tyler oil formation has been proven by Marathon. This play is probably better than Marathons Eagle Ford position.

Anshutz is looking at purchasing entire acreage position of chesapeake in williston basin. 400,000 acres plus. Stark County, Hettinger and Slope. North Dakota

Just don't understand why Chesapeake can not see all of the potential under their 400,000 acre position in Stark and surrounding counties in North Dakota. I would replace Doug and all of his people directly under him in the exploration division soon , if they don't attempt to develop or sell their position. They have 8-10 proven oil and gas zones to exploit

Well, everything you have read above is strictly speculation. Chesapeake overpaid for all the leases in these counties, so it would be much cheaper for Marathon/Anschutz to wait for these leases to expire. Marathon is still trying to crack the code down there.

I agree with you. We were paid well. Now we wait. Thanks
