we drilled the shale in 1973 for Atlas Energy outside of Youngstown.. Productive well but capped because of lack of pipelines to carry the gas to market. It's there.

frac fluids are sand and surfactants (detergents) I've been doing it for almost 40 years
gas in the water comes from a bad cement job... physically cannot be any other reason because of the design of gas wells

Kasich is stupid! He knows that if this would happen it would take 10 to 15 years to get it started, Then he has to look at costs. Now Kasich, You need to remember that Ohio is a Union state and for drillers you'll have to pay Union Labor Wages. Will it really be worth it? I have my DOUBTS about this Kasich clown, He won't be Governor of Ohio too long..

Sadly, there is no way to accurately calculate that. You can determine how much they may have given directly to the campaign. But you'll never determine how much they spent to get him elected.

So governor-elect Kasich "hopes" the gas load out of Marcellus "changes" Ohio's economic fortune. I didn't realize Mr. Kasich was a "hopey, changy" kind of guy. Has anyone alerted Sarah Palin? the Tea Party? Fox News?

Right now gas companies are getting into trouble for poisoning people's water by using a method known as fracturing which releases toxins into the water system. I hope people who live near these gas deposits are involved enough to make sure that our new governor isn't so business pleasing that he lets the gas companies sacrifice other peoples' health.
