I have been a Royalty Holder in gas wells in Grimes County Texas since 1995. Chesapeake Energy has always payed royalty payents on time ever since then. The payments are always two months behind, but are paid electronically by the last business day of the month. I have not received my payments for 03/09 and this is the 1st of June. They were due on 05/29/2009.

Yes, I read your post. It didn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling about and future Royalty payments. Chesapeake has always been a little larcenous ie. manipulation of flow charts, gasprices etc. However; they always paid on time except for this month. I suspect the loses they took in the exorbitant lease prices they paid in the NE and the collapse of the fairy tale gas prices have done them in. Greed is not good! I'm sorry that you had to get in too late. These collapses always follow a long run of Republican rule. The first thing you want to do is have your attorney stop the flow, the gas in the ground is like money in the bank.

Also have a well in Grimes county, no royalty paid for March in my bank account yet, also no emailed statement that I usually get at the end of each month. something's definiately not right here.

They definitely have a liquidity problem that has not been there for at least 14 years. I suspect that the large law suit loss in W. Va. has something to do with it. Also; from other posts about no royalty payments at all for 2 years, it's starting to look like a Ponzi scheme. It could collapse any day. I hope the teat is not dry. However; most of my wells are almost dry compared to 13 years ago.
