Being number two in an ever-increasing market makes one even more vulnerable!

EXCERPT

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP)-- Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine's office is investigating the business practices of Chesapeake Energy Corp., a key player in the state's burgeoning natural-gas market.

MY TAKE

The Old Line of Oil and Gas Producers as Slow Dancers in the huge energy commodity market can lay back and wait while others do the hard up front work needed to prove out reserves.

That is the story about how Capitalism works all over the world order.

That is to say at each step of the way legions of lawyers are needed to protect the Slow Dancers as they set out to take down the fresh leaders in the Pack.

Accordingly who of the Old Line of Slow Dancers do not have a litany of costly mistakes that could be thrown back in their face? They all have but that is not where Aubrey McClendon finds himself today.

History of past events does not matter, the only things that matters today for Aubrey is staying afloat until some others come along to help him bare the brunt of this huge frontal attack.

Therefore as JD Rockefeller did with his huge takeovers all along he went far and wide and deep and paid off who he had too to keep his profile of being a robber baron of others work from becoming public. And to that extent even our American History taught in schools today of his tragic flounders has been kept out.

Well put Dwight. Look for the price of natural gas to rise shortly after Chesapeake is taken over by a major. My guess is Chevron will acquire the Chesapeake.

I Agree Chevron have proved they can dodge the hard questions!

On Jan. 16, 2012, a fire started aboard the shallow-water jack-up drilling rig KS Endeavor. Contracted by Chevron Nigeria Limited (CNL) and operated by FODE Drilling Nigeria Limited, the rig was drilling a natural gas exploration well approximately six miles (10 km) off the coast of Nigeria and in roughly 40 feet (12 m) of water.

On June 18, the well was sealed and abandoned after a relief well was drilled. CNL contracted with the Transocean rig Baltic to commence drilling the relief well on February 17, 2012. The relief well intersected the incident well at approximately 9,100 feet (2,774 m). Cement was pumped into the well to achieve a permanent seal.

MY TAKE

If you have a sense of the criminality of what has been done to the waters that have fed the Nigerians for a very long time and then those suffering in the communities around where the drilling was begun then in all fairness to the Nigerian People and to Chevron a real scale of Justice should be used.

Yet, NO WAY that will ever get off the ground.

WHY the games are rigged where Big Oil and Gas always walks away maybe paying a fine some day meaning after dragging the case through the courts until the Plaintiffs Die. That is precisely what is being done to the Ecuadorian people at this writing the cases have been in court for decades.
