Chesapeake recouping post-production costs

On Aug 1st I received a letter from Chesapeake stating that they were now going to take post-production costs out of my royalty check (I live in TX). When I called to tell them that there was an addendum to my contract that prohibiting this, the customer service rep. said that there was a 1997 court case that allowed them to do this despite the addendum. Their attorneys had gone through every contract and mine was one that fell into this category. They are sending me a copy of this court case. Has anyone else encountered this situation? If so, what are you doing about it.

Yes, my husband received the same letter. We also didn't sign the subordination agreement so they stopped our checks for 4 years. Four years back we were recording about 6-7 hundred dollars a month. When our house was paid off they were required to pay the back royalties and they sent 2700. For 4 years some month they document 22-23 dollars earned. But the gas truck comes every night to pick up. Why would they do that if they weren't picking up enough. These people know if you hire an attorney to look into it it cost more money than you receive so either way you lose!!!!!
