Wind farms can affect weather in their immediate locality, raising night-time temperatures on the ground, researchers working in Texas have shown. The result - published in the journal Nature Climate Change - confirms an earlier, smaller study from 2010.
Having averaged the data, the researchers say the scale of the effect they saw is equivalent to a warming of about 0.72C per decade. "Daytime temperatures do not appear to be affected. This makes sense, (and) this same strategy is commonly used by fruit growers who fly helicopters over their orchards to combat early morning frosts."

Judged: 4 2 2 "steenking piddling diddling middling mudling mudslinger dirtling" falls flat again. Of course, no such warming mechanism is involved. Fans are run by motors which put out heat. Wind turbines have no motors. Fans accelerate air. Wind turbines slow air. & in that context is the warming mechanism. As moving air passes by turbine blades, energy from the moving air is transferred to move blades & copper coils through a magnetic field to generate electricity. The moving air passing through the the blades loses energy thus slowing, increasing its density, & concentrating its remaining energy in spot warming. Just spot warming(as the article says).... not global warming as "steenking piddling diddling middling mudling mudslinger dirtling" would like you to conclude. The warm local air is extracting heat from the surrounding aerial region. More accurate studies would show a slight decrease in temperatures away from the wind turbine sites. Because "steenking piddling diddling middling mudling mudslinger dirtling" is a slimy steenking filthy vile reprobate rooting (& rotting) racist pukey proud pig, he is NOT worth believing. Since he has no hi skule deegreee with no upper level chemistry, science, astronomy, physics, algebra or pre-calc, he is not worth believing on matters of science. |

You forgot friction. Anything that moves on earth creates friction. Those blades generate friction with the air, turning a generator which generates even more friction. And what does friction generate, heat. Grade school physics. |
