Romney, of course, still refers to "sexual preference", implying choice, rather than "sexual orientation", indicating an intrinsic human condition. And curiously, almost ironically, he mentions it in the same breath as "ethnicity" and "gender".

Romney's response indicates exactly how far he will go on GLBTQ issues in general. He will defend us up to a point (i.e., "But he's capable!"), but he won't stand up and denounce the discrimination. Not enough, Mr. Romney. You're going to have to do better than that.

Gay and bisexual men remain the population most heavily affected by HIV in the United States. CDC estimates MSM represent approximately 2% of the US population, but accounted for more than 50% of all new HIV infections annually from 2006 to 2009 –56% in 2006 (27,000), 58% in 2007 (32,300), 56% in 2008 (26,900) and 61%(29,300) in 2009.

All of Romney's apologies and feeble excuses to gay people are meaningless as long as his signature continues to appear here:
http://www.nomblog.com/wp-content/uploads/201...
.
Here is what it says:
.
++++++++++
++++++++++
"I, Mitt Romney, pledge to the American people that if elected President, I will:
.
One, support sending a federal constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman to the states for ratification.
.
Two, nominate to the U.S. Supreme Court and federal bench judges who are committed to restraint and to applying the original meaning of the Constitution, appoint an attorney general similarly committed, and thus reject the idea our Founding Fathers inserted a right to gay marriage into our Constitution.
.
Three, defend the federal Defense of Marriage Act vigorously in court.
.
Four, establish a presidential commission on religious liberty to investigate and document reports of Americans who have been harassed or threatened for exercising key civil rights to organize, to speak, to donate or to vote for marriage and to propose new protections, if needed.
.
Five, advance legislation to return to the people of the District of Columbia their right to vote on marriage."
++++++++++
++++++++++
.
Notice how Romney is woven into the agendas of NOM's recently exposed public scandals, notably paying black ministers cash to turn blacks against gays in DC and other marriage battlegrounds
.
No amount of kissing up gay people will get a gay vote for Romney
.

Your stats end at 2009. It is now 2012 and more blah ladies have AIDS than we have gay people on the entire planet
.
Now lets compare AIDS with other causes of death:
.
Cellphones - 3,000 deaths per year
Smoking - 450,000 deaths per year
Second Hand Smoke - 50,000 deaths per year
Guns - 32,000 deaths per year
Obesity - 300,000 deaths per year
Auto Accidents - 43,500 deaths per year
AIDS - 16,500 deaths per year
.
So AIDS is more than twice as safe as your car; sugar
.

None of your other causes are a predominately gay diseases. 2% of the population with over 50% of new infections each year is remarkable. Just pointing out that before Frank Stanton calls everyone a bunch of disease spreaders she should look inhouse first.

Mittens half heartedly wanted the quisling queer to stay on but only if the quisling queer would stfu during the talibangelical's dustup over the quisling queer's appointment.

That was too much even for the quisling queer to bear. Even though he's worked for loathsome John Bolton in the past, this non support from Mittens' people was too obvious a second class treatment even for a Republican homosexual. Which is really saying something.

Too bad. It would have been fun having pundits spend the campaign going through the quisling queer's now-erased, misogynist tweets and very up front calls for marriage equality.

And this further clinches how captive Mittens is to the far, fundamentalist right, and how he's like a weather vane. This won't just be obvious from this issue, either, the dynamic will feed off of this fundie victory.

You're merely mentally ill. Many diseases are largely concentrated in specific demographics over which you do not run around screaming like a banshee.

And AIDS worldwide is a disease of people of color and of heterosexuals. The former is quite true in the US, also, where most of the new infections are those on the down low, without access to the best prevention or education efforts, or glbt pride.

We'll fix that by seeing ignorant, xstain mullahs like you marginalized.

Philly Freak, those stats are for this country. The one where people are supposed to be educated. I don't think anyone here is hunting monkies for food.

Romney is a MORAL COWARD. Giving into the Christo=nazi Reich-wing Homophobic bastards.

Just like he didn't have the balls to stand up to Druggie Limpbaughs when he was assaulting Ms Fluke.

"So what the story of Mr. Romney and the auto bailout actually shows is something we already knew from health care: He’s a smart guy who is also a moral coward." - Paul Krugman

Great question from the Christo-nazi homophone:

Fischer Calls Out Romney:'How Is He Going to Stand Up to North Korea if He Can Be Pushed around by a Yokel Like Me?'
Read Later

American Family Association spokesman Bryan Fischer poked fun at Mitt Romney today on Focal Point following the resignation of Richard Grenell, an openly gay Romney spokesman on security issues who Fischer and other Religious Right leaders wanted ousted from the campaign. Anti-gay activists celebrated news of Grenell’s resignation as a “huge win,” and the New York Times reported that one Republican adviser claimed the campaign offered no defense of Grenell because “they didn’t want to confront the religious right.”

Today, Fischer asserted that Romney shouldn’t expect voters to trust him to confront China, Russia or North Korea if he cannot stand up to “a conservative radio talk show host in Middle America.”“I don’t think for one minute that Mitt Romney did not want this guy gone,” Fischer continued,“he wanted this guy gone because there was not one word of defense, not a peep, from the Romney camp to defend him.”

There are so many reasons to dislike Romney I wouldn't know where to begin: hypocrisy, lying, source of wealth, flip-flopping, dishonesty, "sleeping with" the talibangelicals, or just his smarmimous. Hopefully the truth will "come out" this fall.
