It is capitalism, but an evil 21st century Republican form of capitalism. In real capitalism Shattuck would reap no rewards for running his company into the ground, but in this new no-fault, no accountability form of capitalism he will reap a large bonus and be paid a king's ransom when Buffett finally fires the guy.

Capitalism used to be defined by charging a fair price and delivering a good product or service. Now it is charging a high price, with hidden fees, and delivering little to no service. How has that happened? The Feds have allowed Wall Street and Corporate America to merge away the competition until only the financial manipulators that don't really know how to run a business are left.

If you can arrest and convict Martha Stewart for insider trading, why isn't this guy not doing time for gross negligence for running a company into the ground. Where else in society do you get to screw up this badly and still get compensated for it?

Shattuck mismanges Constellation Energy and then should be awarded a Golden parachute. I think not. He should be required to share that with all the low-level employes who face the propect of loosing their jobs.

FPL wanted to buy Constellation for about four times what Buffet paid, but Martin O'Malley and the PSC would not let the deal go through. Thanks.
