Put your running shoes on CEG. Of couse the current mgnt. team doesn't want this deal...because they all lose multi $million dollar buy out deals. They could care less about Maryland, their employees and shareholders. Love those Fenchies!

FPL would have paid a lot more for Constellation if O'Malley hadn't sued to block the deal 2-3 years ago. Instead the retirees and shareholders of Constellation suffered.

Why does it feel like we are witnessing the selling of America for the sake of the almighty dollar. Just like when you go to work, you have sold your services to the company for that period of time. How many pieces of America can you sell for the sake of making a buck before the foreign entities all get together and say OK, now we own you and this is how it's going to be. How many people have died defending this country and way of life while we sit back and watch it be sold to other countries piece by piece. From a strictly Nuclear standpoint we have gone to great lengths to ensure these units are secure from external threats, but yet we can say OK let's just sell one or more to the French! I don't understand. What am I missing? You know sooner or later the EDF lobbyists will say look we've been operating our plants (France being nearly all Nuclear) successfully for a lot of years, why don't you back off on some of your requirements so we can provide the electricity to you at a cheaper rate, and because we're talking about the economy and jobs and all that, someone in Congress will take that to heart and we will unravel what we have built. Globalization is one thing, but don't sell the country!

The deal will never go through. The Federal regulators take a dim view of foreign companies owning nuke plants on US soil.

Ownership is not the issue, operating control is. Anybody can have the rights to profits from a nuke plant as long as an American based company runs it.
