I have been a weekend and fill in board op with KPRO-AM 1570 since 1998. The 1570 station has had the call sign since about 1978. KPRO used to be the call sign of the 1440 station I believe. This new station cannot take the KPRO calls because they are being used. And the current KPRO 1570 format is Inspirational / Religous.

I imagine the toughest part of broadcasting comedy 24-7 is find enough material, particularly from comedians of recent vintage, that is not filled with f-bombs, sexual innuendos and other assorted obscenities. Good luck on that.

I miss the old standards and big band music from KBON and KDUO. I grew up in the 60s and 70s listening to those stations, in addition to all of the other ones such as KFXM, KMEN and KOLA, etc.

Sorry,
I listen to 109.9 for new music.
I am tired of Foreigner, Journey, etc.
And I am 53 now. Go Eminem.

KPRO 1440, KBON and KDUO all played adult popular standards. From the Big Band era to the Stray Cats, if you could dance to it, they played it. No hard rock (Even Fleetwood Mac was too "edgy" for them) but Ray Coniff, Barry Manilow and The Carpenters will never go out of style.

KRAK 910 (AM) is about the only "oldies" station remaining.

*sigh*

I miss that music, and I'm under age 50!

I listened, it IS funny, but I couldn't take it for very long. The laughing, throughout, was irritating. If some of that could be edited out, it would be great. Much of it sounds like "canned" laughter, some of it sounds live.

First time I went to bed laughing my ass off. I teach 5 periods of EMS(Emergency Medical Services) a serious topic. I have been a Paramedic for 20 yrs. I teach it to High School Students now. Do you think I have some stories to tell. Would love to do a routine for you.
