I stopped drinking sodas years ago. I know these machines now carry alternatives like bottled water, lemonade, and iced tea, but at their prices it is all a rip off. Between my home and office refrigerators, I always have a chilled or frozen bottled water or other beverage nearby, and I usually keep a bottled water in my car.

I can’t remember the last time I bought a drink from a vending machine.... it must have been at least three years ago.

The people who buy at vending machines are the same people who use a “foreign” ATM and pay those transaction fees. I suppose there are many such people so this is probably a smart move on the part of Coke and MasterCard.

As for me, I'll pass.
