Coca-Cola Enterprises destroyed families in return for profit in 2007. They are a horrible company led by Bush League managers pretending to have sales know how. If these guys had to sell in a commission only job they would fail miserably. This restructuring project they just completed went like this...all sales people were required to re-apply for their jobs. It was just a front. The process meant nothing. In Topeka, Kansas for example, the external new hires knew they had been hired 2 weeks before the interviews even happened for the existing sales people. The gentleman who was hired into 'Cold Drink' was formerly a District Manager for Godfathers Pizza in Topeka, Kansas and let the 'cat out of the bag' early to all of his family and friends. The funny thing is, after he did it, he got a call from Mike Berry, the Sales Center Manager telling him not to tell anyone because the existing sales force hadn't even interviewed yet. What a joke!!!!
Meanwhile, being led to believe it was all 'just a process' and that the personel numbers in the sales department would not change everyone was lied to and at an unbelievable level. One guy I knew that was let go said after he found out and went in to let his District Manager know, because he was told the DM had no say or knowledge of the selection process, the DM actually buried his face in his hands and acted like he was on the verge of crying. The funny thing is, he knew what was going on 2 weeks before it actually happened. BJ Magistro, you deserve an Emmy you f**king liar.

As a CURRENT employee in their IT dept, the conditions during this "restructuring" are approaching sweatshop conditions. I like what I do but as a result of the restructuring and initiative to reduce our Operating Expenses, they want us to do more w/ less, WAY less.
There have been several projects initiated since winter 07. On top of those projects, we have to support users as well. And in there effort to reduce OPEX, when somebody goes to a different job, or leaves the company, there positions are not being re-filled. So on top of the deadlines that we have to meat for the various project that are coming down the pike, we have to divide the former employees duties.
On top of that, our CIO is really pushing customer service, which is OBVIOUSLY suffereing because of the extra work load. And of course, there is no overtime authorized. So, all the work to be completed is IMPOSSIBLE to get accomplished in 40 hours.
All this seems to be giving us just enough rope to hang ourselves as there have been several rumors ,for as long as I'VE been there, of outsourcing our IT department as does the Coca-Cola Company.
Not feeling it right now. I'm revamping my resume and, I'll soon be back in the job search market.
