on top of what i wrote b4 ... they took away alot of our benefits without notice and took away our full time without notice. I hope they get whats coming to them. Ive also noticed behind closed doors that as soon as they give the person a black shirt it changes there concept of there job ... they are suppose to be the supervisor of the dept cuz they can sell .... instead they think there the head person and do nothing ... They know who they are, Prime Ex. Guy named Neil

Again... I like my local CCity, I work there, I'm not ticked at my management, perhaps because you all have no social skills you can't connect with your management team, and your all over paranoid, so yea, for a social failure working at ccity would suck

This company is doomed, grab all you can and don't leave a forwarding address when they come to collect the unpaid bills.

From what I hear the entire chain is getting worked extra hard by thives as staffing is at it's lowest point yet. I have personally witnessed stores with ~30,000 sf of space with 3 teenaged kids running the entire sales floor, and they're all talking to each other. When laptops are routinely turn up missing and one can look at the cameras and see the thives coming in and walking out.

I'm almost supriesd the cops in this town haven't shut them down as an attractive nuisance.

I was a supervisor adored by customers, and by my old manager. When they brought it a man with IQ lower than dirt to be my manager, and sent my amazing manager to a store that was going downhill, things started getting awful. He made comments about how men run corporate america, and that "weak, whiny " women will never do as well as men because they are not made to lead.

I went to HR, I went to my district manager, no one did anything. The problems got worse and worse with the sexist remarks not only from my new manager (Who got promoted to operations) but with a supervisor they promoted to assistant manager. I told him I wanted the new management position, his response was "You've got to suck a lot of d*ck." From then on it was so hard to not have an attitude, the disrespect from those managers, and lack of caring from the others made me sick. I loved my job, my team, my customers, but they've sacrificed quality for quantity, and the worth-while managers have, for the most part, been weeded out. Unfortunately, a lot of associates( such as yourself) either do not see it, or choose not to see it, because, ignorance is bliss. Ignorance was bliss at my store, too, until they decided to let me go after I was 8 minutes late due to a traffic accident on the freeway, even though I followed all procedures and called everyone I could to try and let them know.

These people are absolutely right, you may have been lucky enough to not be in a store that's ran by complete lackluster morons, but I can tell you from a person who is extremely social, and well liked, that these things happen in that company. It's disgusting and surprising, but it's the truth.

I came from Best Buy to circuit city a year ago. Circuit city has the worst managment. THey do nothing but slash prices instead of having skiled salesman close the deal. I cant wait for the morons to go out of business. No one there has management skills unless the came from Mcdonalds. Thats why they layed off 10,000 people in the last 2 years and closed the Canada stores. THey got rid of their educated higher paid managers and scraped at the bottom of the barrel for replacements with lower pay. Ohh by the way managers arent supposed to sell and it doesnt make sence to have 8 employees work in 6 different departments. No zoning = loss of customers. If you work at CC you know what im talking about.Run for the hills the ship sank 5 years ago!!

I just think new york has some crazy ass people in general. All i ever hear is bad things comming from new york. Stop complaining and get to damn work. And to fire dawg, you came to circuit city from best buy because you are not a skilled salesmen? Or is it because you are a manager that slashes prices, though i doubt that? Perhaps its because your in firedog, but if you came from bestbuy you where probably in geek squad and did something dumb enough to get fired. Either way you went to circuit city from best buy and have been there for one year for what reason i wonder. If its that bad then leave, im sure all of new york would be better without you in retail!

No actually retail sux and it was a move to get out of retail. I also got paid more, so theres another obvius reason. Duhh why does anyone go from one job to another? Pay!!!! but now that I left the retail world I can't believe how people want to get into management. You work weekends, you get treated like you don't matter, you never do good enough. I got power ranked 5th in the reigion for the most upsells for fire dog and got shit as well as less hours . Circuit city sux and is going out of business. If you dumb a$$es choose to sink with the ship good luck u tards, but as brain washed as you are retail has no room for the old, so remember that when you are out performed by the young kids who do drugs and energy drinks to get the edge. I am happy with my M-F corporate job. Can you retail people say the same? if so you dont know what you are missing, good life, 40's n hoes and weekend fun

Hey Fire Dawg you are totally on the money I work at the Florida store and this company is a joke. I used to work at Staples as a sales manager and came to CC as a entertainment area manager. I left last month because their stocks are at $4 and some change. In about 2 months they will finalize their Bankrupt papers. Good luck CC loosers

Haha and just so you know Fire dawg i am one of those young kids i just happen to know more then you 40 old somethings

Laugh Riot, Let me make a guess; either you are some type of manager/supervisor or you have been with the company less than 1 year. I too liked the place until all the BS that has been documented on this site happened to me.

Sorry, that was me, back at my parents house for Father's day. heh
San Diego store, definitely a different environment from the Temecula store I started at, but that's fine. The manager who initiated my termination has just been moved to a store we dubbed "Where Managers go to die," and really, life has been simply peachy without that job.

This company is going downhill so fast it's damn near frightening. I'm still working there, but actively looking for another job. I've almost made it 10 years. I am what now called a "supervisor" back in the day it would be called a department manager, or in my department it was the Roadshop Manager. This company is so fucking broke it's not even funny. Staffing is terrible and most of it is highschool kids. Shrink is crazy high, but hell, with only 2 people to cover the entire sales floor... people could walk right out the front door with a bigscreen TV and not get stopped. actually, that happened at my store several weeks ago. Five days in a ROW!!!!!!!!!!
The cops said they werent showing up to take a statement anymore since we never press charges anyway. And I don't work in Urban store- Its your average rural location, 12 million/yr sales location.
No one gives a crap about thier job, they do as little work as possible and there is rarely enough people to actually help anyone. My shelves are bare alot of the time, especially compared to a year or two ago and no process or system corporate comes up with is simple or efficient. It's as if circuit city corporate were Republicans and the stores was the national economy/government finances. YAY $4 gallon gas and BILLIONS of debt when only a few years ago there was a surplus... They cant save themselves because they are too busy having a fistful of dollars holding on to profits to actuall DO SOMETHING useful and as basic as Staffing and training employees. Fuck em, I hope they do go out of business
