President and vice president don't have to like each other, not even work together very much, apart from campaigning. The president calls the shots, and the vice presidents waits to become president in or before the next election. The vice president also gains visibility, but that helps mostly unknown politicians, not Hillary Clinton. Still, the democrat's best chance is a Obama/Clinton ticket (with Obama's lead that large today May 6).
