1997 cat 3126

Can this year 3126 be turned up? If so how,and by what means.

It can, but I wouldn't touch it. You're lucky that it still runs, since a 3126 is not considered to be a "rebuildable" engine. I imagine you can replace the piston rings & lower end bearings, but only if the cylinder walls are in good shape & not excessively worn. A 3126 does not have removable cylinder "liners", like the bigger diesels.
