The acert in Australia is a 6nz motor. That is a fact and you can ask any CAT rep.Hey dude, can you ship some over here? We miss those motors!

I prefer that old n-14 red top cummins over any engine out there we got a 2000 freightliner classic xl with 13 speed and n-14 set at 500hp man i tell you. One word WOW and thats with 950,000 miles only issue so far was fuel injecters. That ones a triple digit running go getter. Then we got the 07 twin turbo cat having yellow pete 379 with a 15 speed. All i can say is good color for that lemon. Cant get 700 miles down the road without her acting up loses power hesitates. Next motor an ISX cummings or god forgive me a detroit

I have a 07 379 it has a c-15 in it,took some doing but truck pulls good. Not as good as an old cat but with 1039730 miles on it I'm not going to complain.Put the heavy haul code in ecm,put after market mufflers, open ecm all the way,and run cat filters, also service it around 12000 miles. Be sure to run overhead around 125000,

i wouldnt call anybody stupid because they dont like cat motors,i have driven all three cat is for power, cummins is for performance, and detroit is the best fuel mileage and mileage altogether,i have yet heard of a cat motor,or cummins motor gettin 1/2 mill without replacing anything on it except the oil and the filters

I just bought an '06 387 Pete with an Accert C15/18 speed / 355? rears. I haul pretty light usually under 50 K gross.
The last C15 I drove was for a paycheck and I didn't buy the fuel LOL!
I had this truck dynoed before I bought it and it has 475 OTG and only pulled down about 12% under full load. It has 560K miles on it. So far it hasn't used any oil and burns clean . I've been running it at 17-1800 rpm and getting 5.6 mpg. With 20K on the deck at that rpm, I don't even touch the trans. It'll pull down to maybe 1500 rpm with about 600* on the pyro and maybe 35 lbs of boost. Does this sound about right or shoud L try about 200 rpm lower operating range?
Thanx

I have a C15 Engine in a 05 Pete 387 . We had a lot of engine missing and Power shudders. We dynoed the truck @ Tormont Cat in Toronto. We ended up stripping the programing out of the ECM and reinstalling a Heavy Haul Program that Cat uses Here in Canada For Train aplications which is 140,000 lb Gross loads. We have Never had anouther Problem since . Our fuel Milage actualy Increased 1.3 MPG ??? This engine now has 1,786,258 km on it and NOTHING has ever been done to it except 1 Valve rocker arm and Normal Valve sets. Thanx hope that helps you

Have Cat Flash a Heavy Haul program into the ECM That fixed my problem and yours sounds the same as mine. Try that

Had a problem with a fan clutch in Hobbs NM. The only one available close was at Rush Peterbilt at a cost of $1300 for a rebuilt!!!!
I already had the truck torn apart or I'd have gone to Vegas for $650 or $900 for a new one.
IMHO Rush Peterbilt are a BUNCH of CROOKS!

I understand now after owning a Cat why they get put in burlap bag and thrown in a river to drown. I think too many got out of the bag...damn the luck

i have a 05 c-15. It has had what is called the heavy haul number sequence in it with a fuel temp resistor, and the turbo waste gate dismanteled, allowing fuel on demand and a max of 68lbs of boost. out of 300,000 + miles of being set up this way i have experienced a lot of power and and a driving average of 5.7 mpg. over the last few months cant get more than 4.4, but have not lossed power. The only difference in work inviorment is i haul 1 way freight and come back empty. My certified cat guy has changed the rocker shafts a few injectors and thermostats, thats it. We have done a complete service with new air filters, pressure checked the air to air, done a fuel pressure test (88lbs at 1350 rpm) injector tests aswell as the overhead. No problems everything is in check even through the ECM printout. Can someone help us figure this out please

As i have stated i am having problems with my twin turbo but every one ive been around seems to do the best between 1350 and 1500 rpm for fuel and power
