Have c-15 435 h.p. in my truck. Heard of one instance concerning turbo failure, but that was probaly attributed to a extremely dirty air filter(also mentioned)I change my filter every 3rd oil change whether it's needed or not.during pre/trip i'll run up idle to 1500 and check differential gauge.other than really low mpg and marginal power,i have no complaint's.Engine has 124000 on it.

Does c/15 have special muffler, with catalyctic converter built in.Someone mentioned that to me.would like to put free flow on to reduce back pressure.anyone know who makes one.Mine is a single under cab and exhausts to 2 side pipes

be careful with exhaust upgrades. these are emission motors. Check with your CAT technition before changing anything. Could void warranty

I have an '06 Pete with a 475 ACERT and also just got out an '05 with the same twin-turbo Cat and I am HIGHLY disappointed with both!! Lousy fuel econonmy, poor power, VERY sluggish p/u from standing start and at highway speeds. Does anyone have any ideas how to cure this thing? Soft cruise is off along with 3 or four other things that were supposed to help it! NONE DID!! We just ran the overhead on it @ 60,000 miles and that did nothing, also! My 98 Freightliner with a 470 Detroit outperformed this yellow 'boat anchor'!!! Real world solutions now, not 'wire this to the tranny' type of crap please!! Thanx

everybody is stupid that dont like cat engines there the best on the market. the acert cat C-15 twin turbo has good fuel economy and power and i havnt gotten any problems wit it. I own a 07 kenworth w900L i have over a 100,000 miles on it. I change the oil every month and the filters every 2 months.Detroit series 60 is a good engine but it only goes up 515hp and Cummins there is nothing 2 talk about there .garbage.trust me cat engines are the best on the market

I have a C15 Cat engine, they are good, but you must change fuel filters every month and air filter otherwise you will see a power decrease and a lot of fuel consumption.

Cat is the best damn engine ever!!!
If you don't like a caterpillar, then you don't know what 2 like.
NO other engine has the torque and smoothness of a cat diesel

Cat diesel is the world's best!!!
A cummins makes a damn good boat anchor.
A detroit is a double chested kawasaki.
A mercedes-benz engine is a 2,217 lb. boat anchor.
A mack is a piece of shit/boat anchor!!!
A volvo is okay!!!
So F*** every engine except a caterpillar!!!

Cat is the best engine that exists!!!
Cummins Sucks.(BOAT ANCHOR)
Detroit Diesel Iis okay! But only 1650 lbft torque!
Mack totally sucks(BOAT ANCHOR).

I like a cat diesel.
A Detroit Diesel last's a long time and has great fuel effeciency, but the maximum horsepower is (515), and the maximum TORQUE rating is (1650).
Cat's max.horsepower is (600) Max. TORQUE is (1850-2050).
A cat is the best.
A PETE is okay, but a Kenworth is the best!

A CAT IS GOOD,

A DETROIT SOUNDS GOOD WITHOUT MUFFLERS!

I have one thats a 01 with 288756 and counting.
The ONLY prob. that I have EVER Had is the fittings on the transfer pump backing off and filling the fuel filters with air.

I love CATS!, I'm a heavy truck mechanic and if it
wasn't for CATS I'd be out of work, probably 19
out of 20 engine repair jobs that come through the
door are blown up CATS!! Keep up the job security
