I recently took my truck to cat in Denver and had them flash my C-15 mbn engine with 66 codes. Later that night it had a 25 fault code (turbo boost sensor)come up and it would barley run 45mph. I replaced the sensor along with the the selnoid, as per instructions from the shop in Denver. This helped however it had a miss and lowered power output. Then on my next load it started to over heat when pulling a grade. I stopped and checked coolent and found it to be way down. When I added coolent it would push it back out the radiator. I shut it down to check things out futher, when I tried to start it again it was locked up due to # 4 cly being full of water. I had it towed to Cat where they determinded the head gasket was blown between 4 & 5. They counterbored # 4 and installed a new liner ect. They also replaced the spacer plate between block and head. When finished they took it for a test drive, came back and checked everything out again to make sure all was ok. They found that number six injector had failed. A new one was installed and everything checked out fine.
BUT here is the issue I have now, still. I again am getting a 25 fault code reading along with low performance in 9th & 10th gears along with the check engine light flashing on and off when the RPMs reach 1600 RPMs. I have also noticed that when getting on the highway as I shift gears it sounds a if it is taking a big breath of air when letting off the throttle to shift. It is the same sound that you get if you are pulling a hard grade down around 1250 RPMs and shift to cath another gear. It is also loosing 4-5MPH when going over an overpass.
I have had it back to Cat twice since the work they clear the fault code and say they cannot find anything wrong. Any suggestions or comments would be helpful. AND yes they did check the turbo out all is ok there. HELP

To BBQ Dave, that code 25 that you are getting is because the ecm is not seeing any voltage back from the sensor. The only two things left to fix that code is either replace the engine harness or the ecm. What you can do is to run the engine and start wiggling the harness from the boost pressure sensor back to the engine ecm and watch for the check engine light to come on. That code is causing your other power complaint issues too.

This code says that voltage coming back to the ECM from your IVA oil pressure sending unit is too high. This sending unit is located on the top of the head near the front, on the passenger side of the engine. You can purchase one from Cat & replace it yourself. It is threaded & screws in and out. Be sure to slide the little "lock" on the electrical connector before trying to remove the plug!

Code 27 seems to be coolant temp.

Any idea about code #29?

Code 29 involves a PTO sensor. It can mean "PTO Throttle Signal Invalid" or "PTO Throttle Signal Calibration". Have you recently had any work done on the PTO system?

Thanks Ken Mech, it seems the ECU is failing causing numerous codes to be thrown as well as random shut downs. The truck is not running a PTO though we have tapped into the remote throttle to run a split shaft pump.

The codes you listed all have to do with the ECM not receiving the proper "signal" from the transmission-mounted speed sensor. When you replaced the sensor, was it adjusted properly? When installing a speed sensor on ANY Eaton trans, screw the sensor all the way down "by hand" until it "touches" the shaft, then back it off one-quarter of a turn, and tighten the "jamb nut" down with a wrench.

If the sensor is OK, then inspect the wiring harness running from the sensor to the ECM on the engine. A short in the wire, or a corroded connection could be causing this problem also!
