Please tell me how may I test a 3126 injector off the engine.
Best Regards.
Guillermo.
The Injectors can only be checked in the engine using Cat ET and a cut out test.

Is fault 164-11 IAP system fault? Could be low engine oil pressure. Bad Injection Presure Control Valve, Injector O-Ring Leak or a Bad HEUI Pump.

the only way you can check the injectors without a pro link to do a cylinder cut out test. if this model has a huey pump set up then what you want to do then is and this may be a little messey. is to take off the valve cover and break loose the oil feed line nut on the rocker housing it self. since this motors injectors work on oil pressure when you break loose the nut where oil can bleed outthe injector will cut out now when this happens and DO ONE INJECTOR LINE AT A TIME TO DISTINGWISH THE RIGHT ONE the motor will cut out or not and if one does not affect running when you break the nut loose to blead off then that will be the bad injector
hope this helps
What engine are you talking about?
You might unplug the wires going to the injectors one at a time. The Oil is fed through an oil rail feeding all of them.

I have a 2000 Sterling with a 3126B Cat engine. I have had problem with starting for about a yr now. It seems the longer it sits, the harder it is to start. When and if I get it going, it seems after about 20 minutes to an hr it starts to run fine. Until that time, it seems like it has been run out of fuel.

I am my wits end. I have had it into 2 different dealers and they don't seem to be able to help.

Can anyone here HELP!

have they let it sit over night a try starting it in the morning? with et installed see what the actuation pressure, and the actuation current iswhen they a cranking it to start. it could be the pump or the injectors. also monitor the fuel pressure.

I had the exact same problem and it was the fuel pump. Put in a new fuel pump and clean filters and haven't had a problem since. Have 258,00 miles on the truck. The truck is a 2000 with the same motor.

I have a 2000 2136 Cat engine it just cranks and cranks and cranks, If I let the truck run all day long, shut it off for five minutes, I have the same problem. I have to cycle the key to get it to start. Engine does not smoke or misfire. All the filters and oil are replaced every 3000 miles. I plug the truck in in cold weather. It has 258,000 miles. The only thing I replaced is the alternator and belts every 6 months. Do you have any ideas. Answer to [email protected]

Beware the new 2007 Cat big bore.
Problems galore.
if you have several and drivers don't pay attention and put in low vs ultra low sulfer fuel it creates sulfuric acid. One owner I know had three to go back to cat and repairs were in excess of $6000 each. Not covered under warranty.

If a warranty on major components states head casting does that involve the head or not. Because of broken bolt that is known by Caterpillar to be a problem will ruin head

I have a 3126 in 98 ford lt8511, 275 hp. has been good so far, have a put a turbo on it. first engine went 360,000 miles, the second has 160,000 on it, you have to keep it serviced and it will last. the dealer tells me about 12,000 hours is about all they'll do
