Cat C-7 starting problem

Cat C-7 300hp 122K miles
Wait to start light taking longer to go out.
When it does, engine cranks longer than it used to before starting. Once started it runs rough for few minutes as if too much fuel. Once excess fuel (?)is burned it runs fine. Any thoughts. Thanks in advance

The C7 uses an "Intake Air Heater" to preheat the system before starting. When it reaches the proper temperature, the "Wait To Start" light goes out. When the heater is working properly, the engine should start & run smoothly, regardless of the outdoor temp. I would have the heater tested & check the wires going to it for proper voltage.
