Republicans Spend More Than Democrats On Social Programs

Full story: www.care2.com

Congressional Republicans are claiming that Democratic spending is out of control, and that cuts need to be made to a large variety of "social engineering" programs, especially entitlement programs like Social Security and Medicaid/Medicare.

But upon closer examination, it turns out that Republicans are actually spending just as much on social programs when they are in power -- they just put their money in a different collection basket.

Sadly, too many gullible Americans didn’t learn from the previous 8 years of Bush about how badly the republican policies can devastate this nation.
I guess bigotry and hate can trump common sense until the right-wingers realize that the people that they voted for are trying to put them in the minimum-wage poor-house bracket; then that’s when they wake up.

This article may or may not be true. Doesn't make any difference on way or the other since the election of the Tea Party Conservatives. If they continue the old spending ways they will be gone. The nation is fed up and disgusted with the way both partys have almost destroyed our country.

And then we have people like you who think installing yet another flavor of politician into office is going to be our saving grace. An elistist is an elistist and that is ALL we have to choose from.

When it comes to political power, there are no rules or regulations to control the manipulation of American lives and money. Any Tea Party candidate you vote for is going to be just as self-serving as what we have now or what we had in the past.

There is a documentary called "Plunder - The Crime of Our Time." You can see it on Netflix. I encourage everyone to watch it. It walks the viewer through the recent collapse on Wall Street, shows how uncontrolled greed destroyed our country and our government and the SEC were aware, yet did nothing to stop it.

In the last decade there has been the largest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind. The nation of the United States no longer HAS any money. We've been wiped out.

Politicians, of any party, need to be held to the "oath of office" that they swear to uphold upon election.

This, along with enforcing the laws, and eliminating the corrupt political practice of excepting lobbyist's money is really all that needs to be done.

Until then, nothing will ever change for the better.

If rethugs had their way Americans would be working for minimum wage with no health benefits. Rethugs believe in corporate slavery for the average person. They are a collection of sociopaths with no conscience or empathy towards their fellow humans. In short they are the scum of the earth!

WHY, in the Name of Heaven and Earth do you find this to be a PROBLEM?I read the total article by ROBIN MARTY;and, finally,I feel good.About what?About the fact, that on the very same day the Republican Congress was being sworn in,I was in the Registrars Office changing from Democrat to Republican."Fool me once,Shame on you;Fool me TWICE,SHAME ON ME."NOT ANY MORE!

anti trust laws should also apply to the government. this would help fiscal responsibility. workers rights and unions should be held in check with government spending and budgets. politicions should be held accountable!!!!!!!!!! with account gimmicks and shell games. to leave office not performing as one should have all pensions and benefits should cease. accountability! you play you pay. they do get benefits for life with very little time put in. what is good for everyone is good for them.

Whatever. Like this is a credible,'objective' news source!

Most Conservative Members Of Congress

I don't necessarily agree with their picks [John McCain is a closet liberal as far as I'm concerned] but here 'tis.
