Really? Was this taken from reality? Flying UA yesterday was miserable - delayed flights because of change of software. Long lines to check in bec. gate readers couldn't read pre-printed boarding passes or virtual ones. Gate agents overwhelmed w/ unfamiliar software. Pilots p-oed because of delays and inaccurate information. It is not over yet! Joe Brancatelli, travel writer at www.joesentme.com , said it will take a min. of 72 hours before flight miles are posted to our accounts. Harrumph. Don't believe press releases. Ask those of us who flew yesterday.

Stats for on time were 75.5% Sat. And 83% on Sunday. So there have been some glitches but hardly a meltdown. My stay points at Hilton don,t show up for several days. No panic there. Too bad about insufficient phone agents but the web site IS working. Just made a res for my commuter flight home.

I waited over 1.5 hours on hold to change a reservation last night and over an hour today. Gold members are not supposed to pay a change fee, but they hit me for $150 on line. Flight on Tuesday was OK, except the gate agents still had no clue how to run the new system - over heard one complain that it was a 50 year set back.
Red Carpet membership information didn't carry over to the new numbers - so there were many delays for those without the red carpet card - the United Gold card was supposed to work, but since they changed numbers, nothing worked.

He meant 3 hours on the PHONE, not waiting at the airport. I've been trying to change my reservation for 3 DAYS now spending hours on the phone each day - United is IMPOSSIBLE to reach! And I can't cancel my flight now without sacrificing $1200.
So, Captain Joe, laugh it up because your company won't be around long if it keeps this up. I know I'm never flying United again.

Number One, UNITED warned everyone that this was coming. It was covered on this site as well as every major newspaper in the USA. Perhaps you should have taken care of things earlier? I recently went through this with BBVA which bought my bank (Compass) and changed all of my numbers and codes so I do understand the frustration.

Actually, the changeover went pretty well compared to the US-America West combination but not as smoothly as DL-NW. Mergers are tough. If you look at the DL customer satisfaction stats post merger, you see that they dropped into the cellar also. No one except Wall Street and CEO's likes a merger. I would like it too if I could take home a cool ten million.

Personally, I would have had a lot more on duty to handle phone calls, so on that point, I agree. As far as never flying UA again, I think you'll come around when they have another sale.

I have been unable to get through to the United Premier line and Groups department for 2 solid days. The Group department on 3/5 delayed my ticketing deadline for a group with a 3/9 deadline to 3/13 to GIVE THEM more time to learn how to process Continental groups...even though it's a United group! I tried to pay for the group on 3/5 but they were unable to assist me and delayed the ticketing as a result. Since then, I have tried to call United Groups, the United Premier line, and United Mileage Plus in vain on 3/9, 3/10, 3/12, and today, 3/13. Today, 3/13 is the final deadline for payment and ticketing for my group, so I am apoplectic. NO ONE at United is reachable to help. I have emailed United Groups asking for assistance 6 times since 3/9 and have not yet received any reply, either.
