ENDA's been around for a long time, it isn't new. So was it being saved as a reelection ploy? So will it ever be enacted? Probably not in any meaningful form. We'll get a DADT form of the law, so full of exclusions and loop holes it won't be worth the paper it's printed on. Any TLGB person who votes for Obama a second time on the promise that this law will be enacted has got to be really stupid.

There's also another wonderful little unintended consequence of this legislation.
Homosexuals will only be able to get government jobs, since they are government-protected government-bubble-people, wielding the club of threats and lawsuits due to all their new special rights and guaranteed preferential treatment vs. all prospective private-sector employers.
No private employer would put his HR dept. policies and the viability of his entire business at financial risk by knowingly hiring a homosexual or other variants of "queers".
It's a legal minefield not worth the risk.
Those already grandfathered-in can start filing their lawsuits against their employers if they face any sort of company discipline, but the prospects aren't too good at getting hired outside government for the up-and-coming young "queers".

Why wouldn't they? Many do. My employer does. They provide full medical, dental and vision insurance for both me AND my partner, knowing full well that we are a gay couple.

What would stop them from hiring a gay person? Is there some indication that a gay person wouldn't do the job that they're hired for? Do you think that the "gay" would rub off, and turn other employees gay?

Few (reputable, respectable) employers care which gender an employee feels attraction toward. Why would anyone care about something so trivial?

I like the edit, but I already addressed people like you.
You're grandfathered-in and presumably everyone knows you're a homosexual. Homosexuals always have to tell everyone about their sex lives, no matter how inappropriate or un-professional. Then they file suit. Homosexuals announce their status of preferring their lifestyle as a veiled threat of litigation.
After the Democrats enact ENDA, you won't have to go to work anymore, just file a lawsuit against your employer for "bigotry", "homophobia", or some such.
Homosexuals or anyone claiming to be will basically be seen as government snitches angling to file a lawsuit at the slightest pretext, if any.
No one is going to hire anyone perceived to be some sort of "queer" except the government, which "queers" will also sue if any are turned down for any reason, or none.
This legislation is an out-sourcer's dream.
No businessman hoping to make a profit is going to do business in the US.
It's just not worth it.
Capital will flow to where profits can actually be realized.

Why would a homosexual do any actual work when they know they can sue for millions just by claiming "discrimination", especially if they're under review or are facing disciplinary measures due to their own mis-conduct?
No one in the private-sector is going to hire any sorts of "queers".
Guaranteed lawsuit for trying to hold them to the same standards as the other employees. Who will all be laid-off/fired after the "queers" drain all the profits out of the company after all their lawsuits.
Hiring any sort of homosexual or other type of "queer" is basically transferring everything you've worked for your whole life to some greedy lawyer and his homosexual client.
That's where all the financial incentives are, in reality.
Don't hire "queers" or vote Democrat, if you want your business to survive.

You must be just another stupid government employee that can waste all the money you want because all you have to do is threaten businesses and shut them down.
Democrats are trying to force businessmen to hire queers that are going to sue and bankrupt us, or else.

Or else what?

I can't say that such people don't exist, they do! However, to say that all are "Sue-happy" parasites is just wrong. But they can be found among straight people too. People like you with attitudes like what what you're displaying are what make the need for laws like ENDA necessary. What are we supposed to do, starve to death because of something over which we have no control. Having been fired for being perceived as Gay. I'm not gay, I'm Transexual and like most straight people, I had a family to feed.

I appreciate your respectful and articulate tone and intelligent response, but this law is meant to destroy free-enterprise, and economic and political freedom.
As if ENDA could rescue the government from their trillions in debt.
Not going to happen.
It's only going to lead to more government control, and resistance by the citizens.
I'd never knowingly hire a queer, just throw their resume away and maybe burn it to erase all proof I ever received it.
Queers just file lawsuits, that's the facts.
Let the queers sue the taxpayers for hundreds of trillions of dollars because no one in the private sector will expose themselves to the financial risk.
Queers are government people and government snitches always filing lawsuits with liberal groups to destroy private employers.
Anyone in the private-sector that would ever consider hiring any kind of queer is asking for a lawsuit that will bankrupt his business and his whole family.
ENDA will get you official government recognition, but not a job.
You people will be absolutely radioactive and toxic if it passes, despite any qualifications you might actually have.
That's just the truth.

Something business owners should seriously consider is that if you know someone in your employ is some kind of homosexual or other kind of queer, fire them right now.
They will only try to sue later under ENDA if the pro-homosexual anti-business Democrat party wins the election.
I got rid of almost all of mine, still nervous about the few remaining.
They're going to sue me because it's my fault they chose to be weirdos and sex perverts, despite their other professional qualifications.
I'm going to have to let them go.
The liability is just too great.

Can't imagine anybody who has a shred of respect for him or herself left (gay or straight), wanting to work for a despicable worm like you.. Do the world a favor and drop dead..

How did you find out about the conspiracy?? What else do you know? If there's a leak, our agenda is ruined!

Actually, I work in etail, investigating credit card fraud. You might very well have had to rely on my honesty and diligence for your protection.

I consider ENDA and a similar executive order just as important as marriage equality and the repeal of DOMA. I also think they need to pass SNDA and similar bills.
