One can see the AG's clearly unhappy he can't water board BP's directors and ship them off to Guantanamo Bay touted suite.
When you think you control the world, a huge spill like this one is discounted as a "tiny spill", as once claimed by BP's CEO. One thing BP and others should learn from all this is evil doers can only get away with evil things for so long. Nature has its own functioning justice system doesn't matter how contaminated man's justice system is.

What a joke. More BO regime grandstanding for the media. Obviously, BP PLANNED this whole situation as a mastermind criminal caper. "Let's see, first we'll blow up our expensive oil rig, then we'll lose all the oil we could have sold, then we'll have to pay out for all the cleanup! Why would we lose all that money for our corporation? Because we're just evil and love to pollute." Lol. BO and his merry crew of incompetent college radicals just want to be on TV LOOKING like they're doing something...if the green weenies had allowed us to drill in Alaska, we wouldn't have this problem, now would we?

The Obama Administration is simply trying to create a way to distance themselves from the crisis and deflect responsibility. They won't even share the same podium with BP Exec's anymore because they are scared people will associate them with BP!! It's too late Obama..it's your worst nightmare and it will work against you!! The American people are tired of you constantly trying to blame anyone and everyone except for your administration. The gig is up....you might as well face the facts....the honeymoon is over...LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

Not smart.

NOW, BP has an Obligation to protect itself legally first and foremost. Clean up can proceed only after the company's legal team reviews all the moves, if they choose to play hardball.

Speed is no longer priority but documenting steps and silence (taking the 5th) is now their first priority, if they choose to play hardball.

This Obama administration continues to make a very bad situation worse.

At a time when communication and coordination is more important than ever, these Obama idiots just forced BP back into it's turtle shell.

The Corporate reaction will only make everyone angry. What a really stupid move by Oboingo. Can't say I'm shocked.

This criminal investigation needed to be postponed or have been done in complete secrecy.

If I were BP, I'd put the lawyers on tv and allow no more access to employees without a warrant or subpoena. Then testimony would be taking the 5th on every question. Don't be shocked when that happens. It will sooner or later.

Coast Guard replaces Gulf oil spill's on-scene admiral, Mary Landry

By The Associated Press
June 01, 2010,

NEW ORLEANS -- The Coast Guard is replacing the admiral who has been the federal on-scene coordinator since an oil rig exploded and millions of gallons of crude leaked into the Gulf.

The spill's unified command center said in a news release today that Rear Adm. Mary Landry will return to duties as commandant of the 8th Coast Guard District in New Orleans to focus on hurricane season preparations.

NOT A GOOD SIGN. It means she wasn't the right person from Day 1. No wonder why she misdiagnosed the spill originally and claimed they had everything in place to contain a spill.

Update with video: Exploded, sunken Gulf rig not leaking oil, Coast Guard says

By The Associated Press
April 23, 2010,

NEW ORLEANS -- No oil appeared to be leaking after a drilling rig exploded and sank in the Gulf of Mexico, the Coast Guard said today, though officials were trying to contain what spilled from the blast and prevent any threat to the coast's fragile ecosystem.

Coast Guard Rear Adm. Mary Landry said Friday morning that no oil appeared to be leaking from a well head at the ocean floor, nor was any leaking at the water's surface. But she said crews were closely monitoring the rig for any more crude that might spill out.

"They're assuming all those men who were on the platform are dead," Kemp said. "That's the last we've heard."

Most of the crew -- 111 members -- were ashore, including 17 taken to hospitals. Four were in critical condition.

Four others made it off safely were still on a boat operating one of several underwater robots being used to assess whether the flow of oil could be shut off at a control valve on the sea floor, said Guy Cantwell, spokesman for rig owner Transocean Ltd.

SO WHY DID THE COAST GUARD SAY IT WAS NOT LEAKING?

Landry said crews first saw a 1-mile-by-5-mile rainbow sheen of what appeared to be a crude oil mix on the surface. That had expanded to 10 miles by 10 miles as of Friday morning, Ben-Iesau said.

Helton said it is probably good that the sheen is spreading because it will be exposed to more waves and sunlight that will help break it down. But he said a wider area also means a greater chance that seabirds and marine mammals will be affected.

Update: Oil leaking from well at blast site, Coast Guard says

By The Associated Press
April 24, 2010

NEW ORLEANS -- The Coast Guard discovered today that oil is leaking from the damaged well underneath a massive rig that exploded this week off Louisiana's coast, while bad weather halted efforts to clean up the mess that threatens the area's fragile marine ecosystem.

For days, the Coast Guard has said no oil appeared to be escaping from the well head on the ocean floor. Rear Adm. Mary Landry said the leak was a new discovery but could have begun when the rig sank on Thursday, two days after the initial explosion.

"We thought what we were dealing with as of yesterday was a surface residual (oil) from the mobile offshore drilling unit," Landry said. "In addition to that is oil emanating from the well. It is a big change from yesterday ... This is a very serious spill, absolutely."

Coast Guard and company officials estimate that as much as 1,000 barrels of oil is leaking each day after studying information from remotely operated vehicles and the size of the oil slick surrounding the blast site. The rainbow-colored sheen of oil stretched 20 miles by 20 miles on Saturday -- about 25 times larger than it appeared to be a day earlier, Landry said.

Oil rig sinks into Gulf; 11 workers still missing

By The Associated Press
April 22, 2010

Coast Guard Rear Adm. Mary Landry said crews saw a 1-mile-by-5-mile sheen of what appeared to be a crude oil mix on the surface of the water. She said there wasn't any evidence crude oil was coming out after the rig sank, but officials also aren't sure what's going on underwater. They have dispatched a vessel to check.

The oil will do much less damage at sea than it would if it hits the shore, said Cynthia Sarthou, executive director of the Gulf Restoration Network.

"If it gets landward, it could be a disaster in the making," Sarthou said.

At the worst-case figure of 336,000 gallons a day, it would take more than a month for the amount of crude oil spilled to equal the 11 million gallons spilled from the Exxon Valdez in Alaska's Prince William Sound.

The well will need to be capped underwater.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Ashley Butler said crews were prepared for the platform to sink and had the equipment at the site to limit the environmental damage.

LIMIT THE ENVIRONMENTAL DAMAGE? Really?

A GROSS Underestimation!

Search continues for 11 workers missing after oil rig explosion

By The Associated Press
April 21, 2010

The rig was tilting as much as 10 degrees after the blast, but earlier fears that it might topple over appeared unfounded.

Coast Guard environmental teams were on standby, though officials said the damage to the environment appeared minimal so far.

http://blog.al.com/live/2010/04/search_for_11...

I think our Coast Guard underestimated and misdiagnosed the mortally wounded rig and was not ready for this. Understandable to a point...

Burning oil rig sinks into Gulf; 11 still missing

By The Associated Press
April 22, 2010, 1:34PM

NEW ORLEANS -- An oil platform that burned for more than day after a massive explosion sank into the Gulf of Mexico today, the U.S. Coast Guard said.

Crews searched by air and water for 11 workers still missing from the Deepwater Horizon, though one relative said family members have been told it's unlikely anyone survived Tuesday night's blast.

Supply vessels had been shooting water into the rig try to control the flames enough to keep it afloat, but couldn't, Coast Guard Petty Officer Katherine McNamara said.

The rig was doing exploratory drilling about 50 miles off the coast of Louisiana.

The rig is 400 feet by 250 feet, roughly twice the size of a football field, according to Transocean's website. A column of boiling black smoke rose hundreds of feet over the Gulf of Mexico.

Officials said environmental damage appeared minimal so far.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Ashley Butler said crews were prepared for the platform to sink.

"There is equipment out there to help with the environment and the potential environmental impact," Butler said.

http://blog.al.com/live/2010/04/burning_oil_r...

What Equipment?

It wasn't nearly enough. Coast Guard was NOT Prepared and GROSSLY UNDERESTIMATED this event.

The Obama administrationís offer of a job to Rep. Joe Sestak in exchange for his quitting a Senate bid is a crime and an impeachable offense, a leading Republican told Fox News Sunday.
Rep. Darrell Issa of California also said that, as with most crimes, the cover-up may actually be worse.
I have often stated and believe it is at least possible BHO was born in Hawaii just not as a "natural-born" U.S. citizen. He was born a Kenyan-Brit regardless before becoming a dual-citizen when Kenya gained their independence in 1963. Of course that was before he became an Indonesian and later attended college as a Foreign Student as his father did and that is what precludes him from being a legal citizen unless he was naturalized. Historically Obama has claimed to be a "native-born" citizen not a "natural-born".

Obungle is unable to get a handle on this spill, so to deflect attention from his ineptness, he is doing a criminal investigation of BP. Have you heard the old saw that "Kneegers fluck up everything they touch"?
