Let the lap dances begin, after katrina the Federal Govt. gave out all kinds of money and alot of people got rich, and/or never even lost anything so they just partied with the money.

I would not expect much different to happen this time.

You think a Democratic conressman will end up with 93k in small unmarked bills in his freezer again?

This is just more O-bribe-a BS drama........

BP agreed to O-bribe-a's slush fund before he ever when on TV for his "I'm a bad azz" speech.

BP exec's knew before they showed up in Washington what was happening.

O-bribe-a is so full of chit. Phony POS.

these cheap oil people. that miserly amount that they are coughing up is not nearly enough to get along with. why they do not even know how many years of devastation caused by the oil leak. what about the lost generations of shrimpers and fishermen and the other livlihood whose finances have been ruined. that they would offer such a mere pittance makes me really angry. who do they think that they are fooling???? may they forever dine three meals aday on fish and chips......

The execs at BP are NOT stupid. They have agreed to pay this over a period of time and not all at once. So... what will "The Kenyan" do in about 18 months when BP goes bankrupt due to the spill and quits paying in? The "claim" to be bankrupt will allow them to sell assets to another company and be spun off 12 months later as a brand new company. Funny thing is, all the execs are the same as the ones BP had. Wow, how did that happen.

at least president obama is trying to help the ugly situation. by the way, who are you talking about when you say kenyon? is this one of the major stockholders in bp that you go yachting with?

I believe the medications are starting to work. The side effects of mindless babble are beginning. Maybe you better turn your computer off before you embarASS yourself.

Overseeing the $20B should performed by a non-profit with no vested interest not the gov't and certaintly not one of obama's personal minions. Lawyer KFeinberg will take direction from Obama and not work for the best interest of citizens. the fund; like the health care reform bill, has zero substance - completely hollow and worthless. another example of obama's lip service further insulting our intelligence and at expense of economy, environment, citizens of the gulf. it frightens me obama is so ineffectual, cannot or won't take action - if us was attacked i fear he'd welcome them with open arms.

i will turn off my computer off when i want. you still have not answered the question of who is kenyon????? this is just for blubber ooops i meant bub-ber.. it does not matter though. we are both concerned about the oil, the wildlife, and the state of the usa. i ache for the destruction that has happened because of the oil companies not having any respect for anything but money.

Birdshot. If it had been buckshot, his friend would not have had a face to apologize with, and Dicke Cheney might have felt bad for a couple of minutes. Then the faceless one's wife would have had to apologize for her late husband's spoiling Dicke's shot.

I love how the Topix software thinks Dicke Cheney's name is obscene: Dick Cheney.

BP talks a good game now, but I doubt if they ever pay a tiny fraction of 20 billion by the time their lawyers get through reaming us.

For starters you are spelling it wrong. It's not "kenyon" it is "The Kenyan" just use the hand that's not in your lap and scroll up and read my original post. "The Kenyan" is in reference to our current president - you know, the guy that plays golf and vacations on our tax dollars during national crisis. The term also makes reference to his lack of U.S. citizenship and comments during his senate campaign about being born in Kenya. I can't make it any more plain than that.
Now, as for the original topic, I live right on the coast and smell oil several days/nights a week. Yes, I'm pissed about it. But just posting on a forum and whining doesn't do a thing to help. How bout you showing up down here next Saturday and help us locals do what our government won't, then you will have a little stake in the game. Just a couple of days trying to get that crap up and getting it on you just might help your perspective. As for my previous comments about the $20B, it was just a comment for the intelligent to consider, so you don't need to bother worrying about it.

Now here's someone who gets it. There are already folks down here not getting paid, even after filing "legitimate" claims.

There are things you can do. Since you allege that you are unable to participate due to physical limitations you could focus your online energies on our congress. Since your location is somewhat veiled with "United States" I can't post links to you represenative and senator(s), but it is easy enough to do with google. Of course you will have to civil or some guys in suits will show up at your door asking questions.
