rape or kill someone? you get a 10-20 year deal. Molest a child? 5-6 year deal and "treatment" that never works. Run a ponzi scheme where people are actually making money? 50 years in Leavenworth!! What a joke. Petters needs to do some time and loose every nickel he had/has, but 50 years is ridiculous. He should have got the 5-6 year molester/rape deal.

Let's hope the rest of his troupe gets equal punishment. Never happen, but hey we can hope that justice is for once just.

Isn't this awful Keating from Lincoln Finincal did the same thing and only got 4 years and Reagan pardoned him after serving maybe one week, maybe just maybe Tom will get that lucky.

Tom forgot the golden rule of America - never, ever screw over people with more money than yourself. That's why he's going to be in the pokey for a long time, just like his soulmate Madoff.

I know! What's wrong with us when a white guy in a suit robs $3.4 billion and doesn't get a parade for it? It's the downfall of civilization!

Well, he'll only be 103 years old when he gets out.
Hopefully he stashed some of that loot somewhere.

That's the problem with ignorant people. You don't see the damage these kinds of crimes inflict on our economic system and people in general. In your myopic view all you see as crime is what minorities do. Pure IGNORANCE! Oh, and I suppose this is President Obama's fault.

Leavenworth my be a Federal Penn but it's still a gladiator camp. Everything's up for grabs. even tha booty. That probably wouldn't bother you, though.

Yea, they put him away for the benefit of his victims....Sure. In the grand scheme of things, smart as he is, the victims would have been better off with him back in business with earnings going to payback. Now, nothing. More like they wanted him where he would be isolated and quiet.

I've seen photos of Petters with democrats too. Don't assume he's a Republican.

Besides that, I don't think Petters was particularly political anyway.

Actually, if you consider the trillions of dollars the O'bungler threw into the wind Petters lot looks like pocket lint. Cash for Clunkers, Mortgage Credits, Lithium Batteries, The Bank Bail-out, Wall Street... It takes a house of cards to hide all of this President's ponzi schemes. And that ain't no hyperbole.
