Obama and his Big Oil buddies---

U.S. exempted BP's Gulf of Mexico drilling from environmental impact study

Obama Top Recipient of BP Campaign Contributions

The Federal Government was responsible for having "Fire Booms" ready to prevent any environmental problem. They did not. The Clinton administration had originally responsibility and failed. The Bush administration did not correct the problem. Neither did the Obama administration. If "Fire Booms" were available, there would be virtually no oil slick at all.

BP stands for British Petroleum. It is not an American company, though I doubt that matters to Obama as he looks for others to blame. Not that BP is blameless - far from it. Obviously, BP screwed up. But a main responsibility of the Interior Dept. is allegedly to protect the environment. Exempting BP from an environmental impact analysis, which I would assume other companies had to do, is irresponsible & smells of favoritism. Makes me wonder what other rules & regs they "avoided"?

---------Ever wonder why Oil Shale has been in commercial production as fuel for decades in other countries but not here in the US where the largest and richest deposits are located?

Estonia, Brazil, China and now Jordan have all found it economical to produce their much smaller deposits.

Possible US future (best for description of technology with costs from 2005)

Estonia (decades of history)

Brazil (about 15 years of operation)

Jordan (just getting started)

China (still pretty small)

Seebach: ShellÂ’s ingenious approach to oil shale is pretty slick

Not theory but a couple decades of fine tuning the process from the pilot plant in Colorado.

That is how big oil cartel make their money. They mess up & we pay their screw up both taxes & at the pump.
There is not a f**ck thing you can do about it. Just watch them helplessly rape the nature & our wallet. Soon we will pay the disastrous price.
