Some one said BP stands for "Bush Petrolium".....that explains why they are so lethargic, stupid, devoid of any ideas....and have only one track mind....to earn as much cash as possible

The Solution : Dig parallel shaft 600 ft down. then Tunnel to the left to original shaft place explosive charges. Dig another 300 ft down tunnel to left place charges close to original whole at 900 ft level. Dig another 300 ft deep repeat above. Set explosives up at the three levels with the correct megatonage of explosive power. Ignite at once or at intervals till whole is closed. Purpose is to make sure explosive
events are capped by overhead bed rock and earth. First outward explosive wave will destroy original whole. Second back wave will fill it with loosened rock and earth. This is a sure way to close down this leak. This technique can be tested on dry land prior to implementation.
This will work and is worth testing on a dry land well.

I just saw on ABC news where the town of Magnolia Springs, Alabama, is trying to stop the BP oil from entering their bay by renting barges and using booms. I hope they are successful at stopping the oil, thus saving their sacred environment.

Theyíre not waiting for government permission, nor should they. They are using common sense and Yankee (sorry about that) ingenuity. Since we have seen BP and the government fail, it makes sense to take things into your own hands. You know everything will be spoiled anyway, so try to stop the toxic oil from polluting everything if you can.

DONíT WAIT FOR THE GOVERNMENT!!! ITíS THE SAME AS JUST STANDING AROUND WITH YOUR HANDS IN YOUR POCKETS.

I hope other towns will do the same with their priceless wetlands. God Bless the volunteers and those trying to save their sacred resources. I pray for your success!!!

Heavy (concrete or steel) cap (funnel shape?) with two valves on top. The first valve will stay open to discharge the leak while the broken-pipe area is covered by the cap and until the second valve is connected to a collector tank.

My idea is to suspend a large funnel shape cone above the existing cap, which would have a large diameter hose attached to the funnel. A ship would be attached to the hose, collecting most, if not all the oil.
The cone would need to be anchored at several points around the base, to remain suspended in place, above the leak A large pump on the ship could be added if nessary, if the force of the leak was greater than the device could handle.

Second option:
This same cone could be fabricated in two (2) halves with a flange on each half, and be assembled around the existing pipe that is now capturing some of the oil. This cone could have several flexible hoses (like fire hoses) attached around the perimeter, to bring most of the excess oil to the ship.
The cone would be lowered slowly, with weights suspended all around the perimeter.
I can provide drawings if there is an interest in this concept.

Make a fire hose just a bit smaller than the well head pipe. Cover it with ballistic material and make it 400 + ft long. Cover the tip of this hose with a pointed shape going small to large enough for the inside pipe to push on. The inside pip must be a thick walled pipe, with slots cut into this pipe every ten feet or so. Create a vacuum inside the hose to make it become extra hard. Put this hose deep into the well hole as deep as it will go. hook it to the cut well head flange and slowly expand it with the drill mud flowing at the same time. when full expanded the flow will reduce to a point that can be caped at that point. Leave the plug in the hole with all line attached to keep constant control pressure. Then cover the entire well head with a inverted pyramid and fill the pyramid the with concrete. Done except for mentoring.

Let the oil flow so that BP can catch what they can. That's what BP has been doing. This funnel system has worked well for them.BP is catching at least 10,000 barrels a day. 10,000 barrels x $50.00 a barrel = $ 500,000 a day. That's a good days pay for only catching 10% of the GUSHER.

wow that is a wonderful catch 10 % and we have our nerve to complain, dam that leaves only 90% going into the gulf, oh well poor little critters.

First build a strong, upside down umbrella shaped plug and tube assembly, shove it down the casing below any breaks, pull back and seal the hole, then inflate the Kevlar or carbon fiber yokahama behind it with drilling mud, have the concrete ready to pour, I suggested this on thier website about two weeks ago, it is so sad but even if this idea didn't work I know someone who has worked in the industry for years knows how, I really get the feeling that these people (BP) who should absolutely not be in charge are in charge, breaking all of our laws to hide what they are doing to save themselves money while letting the oil kill all. Just a tradgedy. http://www.deepwaterhorizonresponse.com/go/do...

again I can't believe the president or any rational citizen is sitting back trusting BP, or Obama at this time this thing is just ridiculous to think we have a robot 5000 ft down that can cut the pipe but at the same time it can not slip a tube over the end of the pipe and just start a new oil well with 5000 ft of pipe in 2 months we could have done that if only someone would have ordered it, they keep telling us 5000 ft, deep we can do anything 5000 ft deep but they have a robot and cameras yet they can't slip a tube pipe suction pump over the end ridiculous impeach Obama and imprison BP.
