Senators seek probe into alleged BP-Lockerbie link

Jul 13, 2010 Full story: Post-Standard 19

The four senators from New Jersey and New York on Tuesday asked the U.S. State Department to investigate whether oil giant BP played a role in winning last year's release of the man convicted of the Lockerbie airliner bombing.

US Senators should be hammering the administration on what it is doing about the oil spill. Worry about what is happening stateside and screw worrying about the UK/BP arrangement with the Libyan government.
How many days has the leakage been occurring? 85?

Our Senators need to stop being so foolish, and lean on the President to pass legislation that will help create jobs, stop disarmming our Defense system, and clean up our oil sotted marshes, and beaches. What motive would BP have in freeing a bomber? Those politicians drink too much to make sensible decisions. They need to take a huge cut in pay. They aren't worth 1/4th of what we are paying them.

I doubt BP asked but in either case, the British Government Released the Terrorist.

I don't see the clueless and spineless senators condemning the British Government or asking for a probe into who in the British Gov made the call.

Why are these idiots following Bill's advice and FIX the spill 1st?

The Republicans have killed every jobs bill the Democrats have proposed. Obama has actually increased the defense budget. AS far as a motive for BP to assist in releasing the bombers? It is called oil. Iran has it BP wants it. Stop defending BP.

Government cannot create jobs. They need to get out of the way, stop taxing corporations, and small businesses, that do create jobs, to death. Democrats want more Government jobs so they can buy votes. Americans want real jobs.

I like the one poll that say 62% of Americans are looking for a Congressman, o woman, other then the one they have now. That goes for Republicans, and Democrats, although there are more Democrats to vote out then Republicans. It is a Historic election, probably the most important one in our lifetime.

I agree this is going to be an historic election. About 2 million people just lost their unemployment benefits because of the Republicans. Another 3 million people will lose their benefits by the end of July....because of the Republicans. Not sure how many more millions will lose their unemployment benefits....because of the Republicans....before the November elections, but apparently the GOP thinks none of these millions of people matter or vote.

The only ideas the Republican have come up with to solve the unemployment crises is to pass legislation cutting more taxes for the wealthy and lowering the minimum wage. Neither of these ideas have received what I would call a positive response from likely voters.

It's going to be an interesting election.

As many people there are who are losing their unemployment checks there are five times that many working, and paying for those checks. Working people that are tired of people staying on Unemployment until they draw the last dime, instead of looking for something to do in case the checks ended. Not everyone thinks it is the American way to stay on unemployment for 2 years.

Looks like I hit a nerve. Sorry to tell you, but the gravy train is coming to an end. Even Democrats are not in a big hurry to spend America into bankruptcy. It's been fun laying around, but the fun is over. Get a job. Get retrained, or Relocate, but don't waste time waiting for the welfare check, it "ain't" coming

Obama claims success in capping BP oil well (who else was capable of such a feat). Sasha and Malika promise to bake a cake for him, since he plugged the leak through his Herculaean strength. Next up, he'll sign that flawed Senate bill on banking regulations. Afterwards...it's off to Maine for a vacation, probably Bar Harbor with David Rockefeller and all the other vile Bilderbergers who enjoy the pristine Maine coast. Maybe, even cocktails at Kennebunkport with Bush and the other crooks.

The affected people in the Gulf region won't see a penny for years. The lawyers will drag it on forever. They will get paid first and the scraps will go to the people. Remember, we have a left wing activist lawyer for president.

Also remember when Toyota was killing thousand's everyday with their defective vehicles? What happened to that story? Oh -- the oil spill bumped it. Now that the spill appears contained and the relief well is only a few feet from connecting this story will fade too.

So why are they worried about what deal UK and Libya do? What kind of jobs does that create here in the USA??

Name one. The dems have owned Congress since 2006. They chair all the committees, schedule all the business. The dems have had a super majority in the house and senate since 2008. Name one bill, any bill, the republicans have stopped.

Name one. Give me the bill number so I can go to the Congressional record and look it up.

2012 POLL: Obama trails against Romney, Gingrich, Huckabee; tied with Palin...

No, this is not coming from Rasmussen or an internal GOP poll, but from the normally Democrat-sympathetic Public Policy Polling. PPP pitted Barack Obama against five potential Republican challengers for the 2012 presidential campaign, and the only one Obama beat was … Jan Brewer. Even that, PPP admitted, resulted from Brewer’s lack of name recognition. The headline, though, is Sarah Palin’s dead heat with the President:

Obama Family chef elevated to post as 'senior policy adviser'...OH GOODY, NOW WE CAN SERVE SNACKS DURING POLICY MEETINGS.

Specter's YES Kagan vote; Obama job offer...ANOTHER LET’S MAKE A DEAL MOMENT.
