BP is seeking to settle a lawsuit over the massive 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill by tapping into a $14 billion fund it set aside to compensate fishermen and businesses harmed by the disaster, lawyers familiar with the talks said. In exchange, the claimants, represented by a group called thePlaintiffs' Steering Committee, would drop their lawsuit in a court case scheduled to start in New Orleans on March 5.

The settlement would tap the Gulf Coast Claims Facility (GCCF), a $20 billion fund BP set up in August 2010 to compensate victims. The fund, overseen by Kenneth Feinberg, has already paid out about $6.1 billion to compensate about 200,000 individuals and businesses, leaving about $14 billion in available funds.

MY TAKE

Mr. Spinelessberg has played his hand well. By stalling then stalling more at the dictates of BP now the ‘big dogs in the crowd’ LAWYERS want to settle at all cost so they can get paid.

These proceedings are not about anyone receiving Justice for that seems to be a far-flung idea that has NO TEETH ---- NO MORE.

No jury trial WHY? I suppose some behind the scenes grand ruthless scheme based on that idea that they did not need US sovereign citizens looking in.
Last, I believe I have taken the biggest steps forward in exposing BP in its faults that caused the giant spill. I told all the TAME NATURE plan to plug the well 92 days before BP and all others involved in the decision making process used my TAME NATURE plan. NOW, think about how much oil gas and dispersants are in our GOM waters because of that 92- day STALL. Some believe most is dying or dead and the worst affects felt by us from our infected GOM is yet to come.

Then I created invented and am patent pending with the TOTAL Fail Safe blow out Container that will stop all blowouts from getting out of control. YES, it will disrupt the cash flow that has come into Cameron and others for the product is less but does more. That is what technology advances are to do.

Soon a buy in to commercialize the TOTAL Fail Safe blowout Container will come about by industry insightful leaders and once that comes about we will a sane society of people that can once again enjoy the safety of our water, land and air the peace we all deserve.
