So, instead of providing presidential leadership, Obama is using his Chicago style thuggery to make BP cop up the money.

At least one member of Congress has the cajones to tell it like it really is. Representative Joe Barton (REPUBLICAN of Texas) offered apologies to BP CEO Tony Hayward for enduring President Obama's shakedown of billions of dollars to pay for the oil spill.

As with Hurricane Katrina, emphasis should be put on the local Gulf business owners, fishing & shrimping boat owners/captains and local governments to clean up the mess. Not the Federal Government, not BP. Why should an individual taxpayer living in Vacaville, California have to fork over payola to help clean up the oil and tar balls? Why should he have to endure more gasoline/diesel price hikes because of this?

But, I'm afraid that once BP starts the bankruptcy threats, Obama and the Democrat Congress will probably come up with new "stimulus package". to bail the company out for being too big to fail. After all, a trillion dollars here, a trillion dollars there and pretty soon, we're taking about real money.

Oh, and I don't really give a crap about the wildlife over there. Nor do I care about the Gulf seafood because I don't eat it. We have enough to worry about with the Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet poisoning the crab & salmon fishery over here.

And I surely don't care for those crybabies who are whining for free government money so they can make a living. After all, they sure didn't care much for us after the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake. Payback is a witch.(w=b)

Sound harsh? Damn straight! Life is a jungle (er sorry, I mean rain forest) where only the fit survive.

Will, you are an idiot. Folks like you are why the US is turning into a third world country.$20 billion isn't even enough to cover the cost to repair the damage being done by this spill. The idiot Rep in Texas is just trying to keep his friendship open with his buddy. Big Oil stays together, and everyone knows Texas is all about Big Oil.
Everytime a disaster stikes this country, we pull together and deal with it as United people, not finger pointers that don't care about our country men. If you don't want to be a part of the United States, LEAVE!!!

Citizens of America, it is time to pull your heads out of the sand and open your eyes to what is happening in America. President Obama has been in office for 18 months. America was protected in previous years after Pearl Harbor. We have enjoyed a relatively crime-free America. America is trying to recover from 911, we have a New President, and in the last 58 days The Gulf Disater has grown, and grown, yet NO FEMA, only yesterday did Obama meet with BP CEO. Look what happend in 58 days ! Then the Media stops, or reports nothing about the INVASION of Mexico. A Rancher and his do were killed, sever Borden Agents have been shot and injured. The Governor of Arizona flew to Washington, met with President Obama, begged for Military protection, and help from the National Guard, ICE, and with the Border Border Agents. Pbana has done nothing, several Arizona families have been killed, law officals shot, drugs continue to go North to America through Arizona. President Obama will not protect or do anything for Arizona, or America. America stop drinking the Obama/Pelosi Kool Aide. America is at WAR With Mexico. President Obama will not even get off his AS-; and look at the WAR ZONE. Where is the former Governor of Arizona ? Czar Janet of HLS has done nothing, will not even meet with Governor Brewer ! We have Two Wars on USA Soil. The Mexican War with Illegals, ant The Gulf War in the Southern States of America. Then we have THE GULF WAR, and Obama will protect Islamic countries from their Terriost, but he will not protect America or Arizona, including the Gulf of Mexico. Please beleive me when I tell you that things are only going to get worse with Obama in office. How long is it going to be before another innocent American Citizen or more Marine life will die ? or be killed by a ILLEGAL MEXICAN or Drug Cartel ? America stop drinking the Obama Kool Aide. Speak up. Keep America Safe and Happy. It's Time To IMPEACH OBAMA and Pelosi. Both of them are aCLEAR AND PRESENT DANGER TO AMERICA. Did you know that BP only has 7Billon dollars in liquid assets ? Yes, they do not have 20billon dollars, BP can still file for Bankrupacy, and President Obama has not even called FEMA or the US Navy. Even the Duch, Kuait, China, and other countries have offered to help clean up this oil mess. President Obama will not lift the Jones ACT for International Ships. America is slowing going South to Mexico, because we have a President that does not care, or know how to handeld a War and a Oil SPILL. Obama:= One Big As-; Mistake America !

First the Republicans are against government intrusion in private industry, NOW they decry Governments insufficient involvement and meddling with private industry. It's not like we have a deep water oil rig failure response team on 24/7/365 standby. It is also clear that the Republicans are more concerned with trying to blame Obama than to hold BP accountable for its actions. So much for Oil company assurances (i.e. private industry) that what they were doing was safe and that they would had a response plan if things went wrong! Notice how Republicans and conservatives decry BP's voluntary $20 Billion escrow account as a 'slush fund' and a 'Chicago style shakedown.' God forbid BP has to pay anything for this disaster, as that would divert funds away from Republican political contributions.

From their rhetoric, it would seem the Conservatives who once decried Government bailouts would rather have the taxpayers pick up the tab and in essence 'bail out' the Oil companies from the disasters they create.

Vote Democrat this November! Republicans have once again shown that they care more about campaign donations from their big corporate donors than the safety and wellfare of us 'small people' tax payers.

Ever wonder why the Republicans are so desperate to blame this oil spill and cleanup on Obama???
Because they are desperate to erase the memory of Bush's complete and utter failures in the Gulf Coast region after Hurricane Katrina.

Notice how desperate they have become in their latest jihad/crusade against Obama. Remember, BP assured us that drilling that deep was safe. They even sold us on their snake-oil response plan. Drill baby, drill! Now that BP’s greed has turned to spill baby, spill. Suddenly, their so-called disaster response plan, when put into action, is not working out so well.. Now the Republicans are desperate in their attempts to try and pin this on Obama. After all, the Republicans lost on the stimulus plan and health care. Not only did their presidential candidate McCain underestimate his superior intelligence, the entire Party has failed to match wits with him. Even when the Republicans thought that they could gang up on Obama on healthcare, he not only schooled them, but embarrassed the Republicans on national TV.

As the midterms approach, the Republicans realize that they have done nothing for America! While Obama can tout his accomplishments on the stimulus, Iraq troop withdrawal, job creation, infrastructure improvements, stopping nuclear proliferation, and health care reform (to name a few), the Republicans have been unsuccessful in their holy crusade to vilify and pin something on Obama. And just like the attempts before to make him look bad, the attempt to blame Obama for BP’s mess and responsibility for cleanup will fail as well. This will further erode what little credibility they have left, and will hurt them badly in the mid term elections this fall.

Notice how Southern Republicans have been pounding a drumbeat about both “states rights” and “drill baby drill.” But NOW, when the direct outcome of those policies causes a massive environmental disaster, rather than having a state-level response, there are nothing but complaints about the Federal response.

It is interesting to note Jindal's own unique responsibility for this current calamity: back in 2006, Jindal sponsored the Deep Ocean Energy Resources Act (H.R. 4761), a bill to eliminate the moratorium on offshore oil and gas drilling over the U.S. outer continental shelf.

And there is some fine print to those conservaturd Republican ideas of smaller government and lower taxes. The lower taxes are only for the extremely wealthy. Smaller government rule doesn't apply when they hold power as when G.W.B. created that huge Department of Homeland Sceurity. The smaller government thing also doesn't apply when disaster strikes and a Democrat is President.

Funny how the hooting Democrats freed from the bonds of slavery, bash the southern states they "hailed" from. Big government kills.
